Black Mage Instructions

As a Black Mage joining us in BCNM40 "Steamed Sprouts" you will take the role of one of the damage dealers.

Preparation

Be sure to bring appropriate MP boosting food as well as at least one Yagudo drink.  Any equipment you can wear that is level 40 or lower that boosts MP would be very helpful as during BCNM40, you will want all the MP you can get.

Once entering into BCNM40 you will follow the guidelines detailed in the overview.  Once the Paladin engages the Dvorovoi your job will kick into action.

Be sure to prepare a Flood macro that looks something like this: '/party <Flood> <call>'

Flood Watch

The Red Mage should be covering most of the debuffs so you only need to use Shock to increase the damage your nukes do to the mob.  If you are subbing White Mage, have an Elemental Seal + Silence ready in case of an emergency where Flood starts to go off.  Also if you have a White Mage or Red Mage sub you can work to wake people up when they fall asleep.  As for damage, Mandragoras are weak to Fire and since that is your strongest spell at level 40 with Fire 2, use it as often as you can.  MP will be a luxury throughout the battle so to regain some MP while still casting watch for the Bard's calls over the party channel.  He will announce when he is casting Mage's Ballad.  When he calls it out, move over in his range to be sure you gain the effect, then move back over to continue casting on the Dvorovoi until it is dead.  If you start to run out of MP during this portion of the battle, be sure to drink a Yagudo drink.  This is the most dangerous part of the battle and we need to nuking like crazy to kill the Dvorovoi as fast as possible.  However, if you do run out of MP /heal in a location within the Bard's Mage's Ballad radius so you can regain MP more quickly.  One last quick and very important note.  When nuking the Dvorovoi stand close to the Dvorovoi. We cannot afford you getting hate and having the Dvorovoi move any closer to the Bard or Red Mage.

Onion Genocide

Follow similar guidelines as to what you do in Flood Watch.  At this point, however, if you run out of MP, it is better to just /heal until full then stand and cast again.  Be careful not to use any -ga spells however as a single -ga spell can get the Bard killed.  Fire 2 will still be your best bet for damage.
