As
a matter of fact,
the walls surrounding the Old City is just across the narrow
street, complete with ancient guns reminding us of the turbulent
and colorful history of the almost 400 year old town. Needless
to say, the Manoir is within easy walking distance of some of
the most interesting landmarks in the city. |

In order to take full advantage of
the view,
with the opening of a major street running along the walls of
the fortification in the late 1800s, the main facade of the
hotel (as well as those of the other buildings along the
street), was moved from rue Hebert to the its present state
along des Remparts Street. |
From the lobby of the hotel,
the terrace, and the front rooms, you can enjoy a most
magnificent view which embraces the St-Lawrence river, the
Old-Port, the marina, the Island of Orleans and the mountains,
all of which combine to form a glorious background. |
