Composer: Marcelo Uzcátegui Andrade.
This concert, certainly not vanguardist, pretends to amalgamate the different
techniques of performing the instrument whitin this great musical period called
"clasicismo", in which are perfectly defined the Baroque, the Classic and
Romantic periods, in such a way that in the structure of the concert will
appear amalgamated these three styles, whithout any antagonic characters, but
on the other hand to be conciliate elements, permiting a development of the
armonic-musical language totally fluid and eloquent, so that is demonstrated
certain passages in the dialog of the guitar and solo cello, the string quartet
and the full orchestra.
I hope to have reached in this concert all those immutable elements of the
"clasicismo" which have nourished all my soul and my sincere creator spirit,
because I think deeply in that accurate and in force phrase already said in the
XIV century for that formidable "Cantor de Notre Dame" (Guillaume de Machaut)
which textually says: " Who does not create for feellings falsify the words and
the song".

The first ideas of this composition were started around 1989, as a homage to
those great figures that iniciating from the first spanish vihuelist to very
gifted composers as Fernando Sor, Mauro Giullani, Francisco Tarrega, etc, who
enriched the musical staff of the classical guitar of that epoch, and whose
musical production permited that this instrument reaches a privileged place as
soloist instrument.
