Lucy was born in Hong Kong to parents Betty and Wan Fui. She has a sister Iris and three brothers, Robert, Fred, and Jeff. She moved with her family to San Diego, California when she was seventeen. She went to University of California San Diego for her bachelor and master
degrees in electrical engineering. She is finishing up her Ph.D. in the communication theory program of the electrical engineering
department at UCSD. We'll see if she will be Mrs. first or Dr. first.
