| Recommended Books ListJohn Emshwiller The single best book describing the current stock market. Jack Schwager Excellent interviews with traders, many of them about the futures market in '70s and '80s, where some of the best trading opportunities were found. Trading philosophies with some of the most successful traders are discussed in detail. Jack Schwager Same format as Market Wizards, with more interviews covering various aspects of trading, even more interesting than the original set of interviews. Leo Gough Informative interviews with various global investors who give a big picture view on the markets and on trading discipline. Martin Zweig Historical trends and behavior of the stock market are viewed in detail with a focus on discernible patterns. Interesting tidbits such as Fridays being the best days to be long and Mondays being the worst days, historically over the years. William O'Neill The author is probably one of the best medium-term to long-term traders in the stock market out there. If you are inclined to invest in the stock market for the medium to long term, this book is probably one of the best to read. Also helpful for short-term trading in getting a strong view on what charts mean, what fundamentals mean, and how the combination of the two should be applied to pick stocks. Jack Schwager Probably one of the best books on technical analysis out there. Most technical analysis books tend to take a concrete view of market patterns, with dry analysis. This book uses charts as a way to interpret market action, with interesting insights on what certain patterns mean in an intuitive sense. This book is useful for both the layman as well as the seasoned professional, and is quite an entertaining read for a T.A. book.
