When is our next match? It isn't going to happen it looks like :(. sbd has given up United League and we are "considered the winners", what a slap in the face after defeating the top teams in UL and going 9-0. Well it doesn't do any good to whine about it so I won't, it does suck though. Here is sbd's letter.....

I'm shipping UL to whoever can do it properly. I can't do it properly anymore. I ran it for a season and liked running it, but I can't continue it. There's no possible way for me to juggle work, real life, EQ and SS. I'm willing to provide web space for the next person, but I just can't run a league anymore. I know I'm pissing off a lot of people with this admittance, but it's overwhelming me. It isn't that it's terribly difficult to do, it's that I don't have the time to do it correctly. I have asked Ants to find someone to succeed me, although that hasn't been very fruitful. I've a couple in mind that could do this, but I won't name names. I will make an official announcement soon on the League page. Again, I apologize as I have led most of you on into thinking I'll continue. I just can't. I want to, and I'm hoping another will, but it can't be me. This is a draining position. The power is fun and controlling an entire League is beyond explanation, but it isn't any longer possible for me to do it. I'll hit more detail on my official bye-bye on the League page tomorrow or Friday. sbdork

No matter what anyone says WE know WE are the winners of UL. We had the best players, the best teamwork, the best spirit and the best comradery(spelling?). SS goes on with or without sbd so I hope to see all you on SS still :). Btw I got rid of my cable modem and went back to the phone line it's better :). Ironic now that league is over that I can actually play in the league zones now hahahaha, oh well :)

When is our next match? As I'm sure you've heard by now, sbd is temporarily suspending play in UL until the reffing situation can be straightened out. If you would like to be a ref in a league, now is the time to apply. Reffing one or two games a weekend would be very helpful. So, no game this coming weekend. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Warlords heh...Warlords remain in the number one spot in UL. In other words, Warlords own :). One more game and we win it all folks. Our match went as well as planned, we defeated The Chosen and successfully defended our spot. MVP of match was Space Elmo. Good job to all who played and what a turnout we had! Hey Ya, Well The Chosen relented a bit and gave us the 9pm ET time for this coming Sunday. Please be there an hour or so before, so we can warm up and prac and test connections, etc.

W00T!!!!!!! We won our most important match yet in a 4-3 OT victory against Shaved Monkeys. Space Elmo 4-1(MVP), Subruler 0-1, Adamantium 0-0 and A lop 0-1 in a well fought match that went the distance. Here is the log of the match. You did great guys props to all of you :). We are now on top of the pyramid with an 8-0 record thus far. Now we must defend our title hehe. See you all at practices this week :). Have a beer or 2 guys, you all deserve it. See you all in SS

Our match against Shaved Monkeys will be at 3pm ET instead of 3:30pm ET as there can be no matches on the half hour. Try and get there an hour or so early ro practice and warm up :) Afterwards we have the Pro League Tourney but that's just for fun so don't stress over it heh :P

We have a United League match this Saturday 06/05/99 at 3:30pm ET against Shaved Monkeys. This is a very important match for us because we can advance to the top of the pyramid with a win. Please show up for this match and for practices this week at 11pm ET nightly. We can beat these guys and put all the rumors to rest :)

I read this on the Inet page today: Starting today, SSCU servers now utilize a completely new method of getting rid of cheating pilots. From now one we are able to continue banning IP addresses and subnets, but in addition it is now possible to only lock out cheating pilots and prevent them from creating new accounts. And that's not all - we can now also let specified users pass through bans which affect large IP address ranges. This new method, developed by PriitK, has been tested for one week on the SSCU Trench Wars zone, and the results have been excellent. After we have ensured that the tools we use at this end work perfectly, anyone connecting their zones to the SSCU user / squad database can benefit from its obvious advantages. So if your ISP has been banned from Subspace for a long time, you can now start waiting for the day when we at SSCU start removing ISP-wide bans permanently. There's no more need for them - the new system works more efficiently and will cover a wider range of zones.
