i have never understood how people can take a stance on an "ultimate" being (ala God or no God) when nothing in this world can be fully understood by the human mind. there is no way in our conception to "prove" that a God-like being exists or does not exist, because technically, it is impossible to "prove" anything. what it all boils down to is patterns.

you drop a ball and it falls downward. pretty standard thought. but how can we prove that the ball will always fall downward? how do we know that gravity will only exist for 8,000 years, or 50,000, or a trillion? if we cannot concieve of and we cannot prove that there is a beginning and an end, which we cant, there is no way to prove that a pattern exists within the capacity of our mind. therefore even though the ball drops downward 4 trillion times before, there is no way to 100% guarentee that the ball will drop downward the next time you drop it.

with this said, all beliefs, from religious to scientific, are based off of one thing. faith. which is why i never criticize people for their beliefs because nobody is ever wrong and nobody is ever right to me. someone's faith is more or less their interpretation of the explinations of the world. i cannot sit here and tell you that you believe in a "false" god, because i cannot prove that your god is true or false. this is why athiests bother me the most.. they claim to believe in no form of a higher power, which cannot be proven or disproven, yet the majority of atheists explain the world in a form of nothingness... that there is nothing and everything is random.. which is relativley impossible to prove because as long as something has existed, a pattern of some form has occured within that existent being, and if there is a pattern, then there no longer is nothing. at least people that believe in a god can, often times subliminally, understand the concept of patterns, because even if they believe their god is eternal and ever-lasting, there is no way to prove that the pattern of god is not a constant pattern that does not change.

God = 1111111111111111................... (1, exists, a pattern susecptable to change because it exists)
No God = 000000000000000000.................. (0, nothing, does not exist, you cannot change a pattern that does not exist)
