In 1986 Holly (Kelly v(an)h(et) Schellinjke) became my first Malinois. Imported from Holland by Tom Rose, Holly was the first Malinois, under the auspices of United Schutzhund Clubs of America, to earn a Schutzhund III and an FH, (with a score of 97 under an SV judge). She was also the first malinois, under the auspices of United Schutzhund Clubs of America, to become a member of the SchH III Club. To become a member, the dog must be owner trained and handled through all levels of Schutzhund I, II and III. Holly also was part of my sled team, was used as a therapy dog in convalscent hospitals, and actually was used in an elementary school play as part of an ochestra, howling her part beautifully.
Holly (Kelly v.H. Schellinjke SchIII (P), FH (V), CDX, TD, HIC, OFA-G, was the dam of multiple AKC Champions, Sport trained/titled dogs and LEO partners. This website is about her sons, daughters, grandkids and great-grandkids. Holly was the beginning Mattole Malinois was built on. Their accomplishments can only partially be listed and many went on to be cherished companions of their new owners.
