This was my favourite skyscraper in New York. It's located at the southern end of Manhatan. |

SoHo is a short form for South of Huston St. SoHo has been the area where alternative artists lived. Today you can find boutiques, art galleries, cafe's in SoHo. But the influence of the former alternative live style in this part of New York is still visible. |

All the time in New York I tried to capture the mood on Time Square at Night. The crowd of people that populate Time Square all day long or the TV stations and radio station that have their studios there are just gigantic. To me it seemed as if Time Square is where the heart of Manhattan beats. |

New York is the town that never sleeps! At night it is not much darker than during the day. We took a ride on the platform of the Empire State Buildung to get a view over New York at night. In the period from 1931 to 1972 the Empire State Building has been the highest building of the world (381m). In the right part of the picture there is the Chrysler Building with the shining shell-like roof. |

Marina-City: This was my favourite skyscraper in Chicago. The house was designed by Bertrand Goldberg, who belonged to the school of Mies van der Rohe (who designed the IBM building in the background). Marina-City was built in 1964, its hight is 174m. It is a small city in itself: The upper floors are used for appartments, the floors above ground are used as garages and stores, and at the waterline are docks for the private boat! |

LaSalle Street is one of the central streets in the "Loop" - the center of Chicago. In the Chicago Board Of Trade at the end of the street the maklers do their trading in colourful jackets. In the foreground you can see the tracks of the "subway" which is above ground in Chicago. |

There are several shows in the Aquarium of Chicago where information and the behaviour of dolphins are presented. Beside dolphins you can see Baluga Wales, otters or gold fishes there. |
