Jotham's linage
1 Chronicles 3
Jotham the king's son was over the household
2 Kings 15
5 And the L-RD struck the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death. And he lived in a separate house, while Jotham the king's son was over the household, judging the people of the land. 6 Now the rest of the acts of Azariah and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? 7 And Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David, and Jotham his son became king in his place.
2 Chron 26
Upheaval of Israel's kings
2 Kings 15
13 Shallum ben Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned one month in Samaria. 14 Then Menachem ben Gadi went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum ben Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him and became king in his place. 15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum and his conspiracy which he made, behold they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel. 16 Then Menachem struck Tiphsah and all who were in it and its borders from Tirzah, because they did not open to him, therefore he struck it; and he ripped up all its women who were with child.
17 In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Menachem ben Gadi became king over Israel and reigned ten years in Samaria. 18 And he did evil in the sight of the L-RD; he did not depart all his days from the sins of Jeroboam ben Nebat, which he made Israel sin.
19 Pul, king of Assyria, came against the land, and Menachem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver so that his hand might be with him to strengthen the kingdom under his rule. 20 Then Menachem exacted the money from Israel, even from all the mighty men of wealth, from each man fifty shekels of silver to pay the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned and did not remain there in the land. 21 Now the rest of the acts of Menachem and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel? 22 And Menachem slept with his fathers, and Pekahiah his son became king in his place.
23 In the fiftieth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekahiah ben Menachem became king over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years. 24 And he did evil in the sight of the L-RD; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam ben Nebat, which he made Israel sin. 25 Then Pekah ben Remaliah, his officer, conspired against him and struck him in Samaria, in the castle of the king's house with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites, and he killed him and became king in his place. 26 Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah and all that he did, behold they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
27 In the fifty-second year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekah ben Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years. 28 And he did evil in the sight of the L-RD; he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam ben Nebat, which he made Israel sin.
29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured Ijon and Abel-beth-maacah and Janoah and Kedesh and Hazor and Gilead and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he carried them captive to Assyria. 30 And Hoshea ben Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah ben Remaliah, and struck him and put him to death and became king in his place, in the twentieth year of Jotham ben Uzziah. 31 Now the rest of the acts of Pekah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

Oracles of Isaiah
Isaiah 1
2 Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth;
For the L-RD speaks, "Sons I have reared and brought up,
But they have revolted against Me.
3 "An ox knows its owner,
And a donkey its master's manger,
But Israel does not know,
My people do not understand."
4 Alas, sinful nation,
People weighed down with iniquity,
Offspring of evildoers,
Sons who act corruptly!
They have abandoned the L-RD,
They have despised the Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away from Him.
5 Where will you be stricken again,
As you continue in your rebellion?
The whole head is sick,
And the whole heart is faint.
6 From the sole of the foot even to the head
There is nothing sound in it,
Only bruises, welts, and raw wounds,
Not pressed out or bandaged,
Nor softened with oil.
7 Your land is desolate,
Your cities are burned with fire,
Your fields-- strangers are devouring them in your presence;
It is desolation, as overthrown by strangers.
8 And the daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard,
Like a watchman's hut in a cucumber field, like a besieged city.
9 Unless the L-RD of hosts Had left us a few survivors,
We would be like Sodom,We would be like Gomorrah.
10 Hear the word of the L-RD,You rulers of Sodom;
Give ear to the instruction of our God,
You people of Gomorrah.
11 "What are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?" Says the L-RD.
"I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams,
And the fat of fed cattle.
And I take no pleasure in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats.
12 "When you come to appear before Me,
Who requires of you this trampling of My courts?
13 "Bring your worthless offerings no longer,
Incense is an abomination to Me.
New moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies-
I cannot endure iniquity and the solemn assembly.
14 "I hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,
They have become a burden to Me. I am weary of bearing them.
15 "So when you spread out your hands in prayer,
I will hide My eyes from you,
Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen.
Your hands are covered with blood.
16 "Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight.
Cease to do evil,
17 Learn to do good;
Seek justice,Reprove the ruthless;
Defend the orphan,
Plead for the widow.
18 "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the L-RD,
"Though your sins are as scarlet,They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
19 "If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
20 "But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword."
ruly, the mouth of the L-RD has spoken.
21 How the faithful city has become a harlot,
She who was full of justice!
Righteousness once lodged in her,
But now murderers.
22 Your silver has become dross,
Your drink diluted with water.
23 Your rulers are rebels,
And companions of thieves;
Everyone loves a bribe,
And chases after rewards.
They do not defend the orphan,
Nor does the widow's plea come before them.
24 Therefore the L-rd G-D of hosts,
The Mighty One of Israel declares,
"Ah, I will be relieved of My adversaries,
And avenge Myself on My foes.
25 "I will also turn My hand against you,
And will smelt away your dross as with lye,
And will remove all your alloy.
26 "Then I will restore your judges as at the first,
And your counselors as at the beginning;
After that you will be called the city of righteousness,
A faithful city."
27 Zion will be redeemed with justice,
And her repentant ones with righteousness.
28 But transgressors and sinners will be crushed together,
And those who forsake the L-RD shall come to an end.
29 Surely, you will be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired,
And you will be embarrassed at the gardens which you have chosen.
30 For you will be like an oak whose leaf fades away,
Or as a garden that has no water.
31 And the strong man will become tinder,
His work also a spark.
Thus they shall both burn together,
And there will be none to quench them.
