AIDS & SAFE SEX
By Timothy Glover
It is no news to us that we are ex-periencing an AIDS's crisis. Yet, what may be news to some is that we are also facing a morality crisis. The attention given to aids is not just the widespread effect it has had on the world and even innocent children. This disease is frustrating people who want to live a promiscuous lifestyle. More and more emphasis is placed on "safe sex" as a precaution to prevent contracting the disease. The inference is that people are having sex with more than one person and that they are intent on continuing the practice.
While we have compassion on anyone who has con-tracted the HIV virus, we must not compromise the truth by hal-lowing the unrighteous behavior of homo-sexuals and fornicators as perfectly acceptable. Heb. 13:4 read, "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whore-mongers and adulterers God will judge." Paul explains homosexuality as "unseemly" behavior and as "leaving the natural use of the woman" (Romans 1:27).
The consequences are just as clear. "and receiving in themselves that recom-pense of their error which was due (Rom. 1:27, cf. 1:32, "worthy of death). Paul wrote in Gal. 6:7,8 "He that soweth to the flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption." With the exception of the innocent victims who suffer because of other's sins, the moral principle is that true safe sex is avoiding a promiscuous lifestyle and respecting God's moral codes.
