 Biography

Murray Lightle is again running for Alderman. He wants the people of Spruce Grove to hire him to help manage their city. This is a position he is trained to do and he would do with pride. He is trained professional manager with a rare background of education and experience. He will be a driving force in the continued growth of Spruce Grove.

Murray has been an Instructor in the Parts Technician Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) for the past 15 years. He holds a Bachelors of Commerce Degree and several trade designations. He has served on many boards and committees professionally and privately paid and volunteered including the NAIT Board of Governors. He will do his homework and be an informed player on the Spruce Grove leadership Team.

Murray is a family man with a wife and three children who use and enjoy the facilities available in Spruce Grove. He is aware of the benefits and shortcomings of Spruce Grove’s facilities. The Tri-Municipal Recreation Facility is a huge step in the right direction, but there continues to a great amount of work to be done. Spruce Grove still does not have a BMX track, improvements need to be made to the outdoor arenas and many other projects. Murray will support and empower local groups to enhance current facilities and develop new initiatives.

Murray believes that there are innovative solutions to some of these facility problems if we have the right mix of people working together. It is easy to complain, moan and promise. Let us actually get to work and do something.

Especially in these times of unprecedented growth Spruce Grove should be actively planning and creating the future of our city. Murray has a positive vision of the future and a drive to accomplish goals regardless of the obstacles. He has been very successful in previous building projects and will not fall victim to the gloom and doom thinking so many are hampered by.

Murray has a passion to make Spruce Grove an even better community.

Murray has the training and talent to do a professional job for you as Alderman.
