What is Herbology?
Herbs are a variety of naturally found products that have medicinal properties. Herbs may be prescribed in
complement with acupuncture treatment. Herbs move the life energy to re-balance the body toward health just
as acupuncture needles do. In addition, herbs supply nutrients to areas that need nourishment. An
acupuncturist is also an herbal doctor who treats symptoms through observation of the whole being.
An integral part of
Eastern Medicine is the
use of herbs which can
substantially aid in the
restoration and
maintenance of balance
in the body.
Herbal formulas can be
specifically designed for the
individual needs of each
patient. Formulas come in
many forms, including herbal
teas cooked from raw herbs,
prepared pills, powders or
tinctures.
Herbs are highly specific
in their actions and
herbal formulas contain
a range of herbs that not
only possess different
qualities and properties,
but also target different
aspects of the patient's
disharmony.
