The Joryan system is strategically important to the Imperium, and with the immensely superior communications allowed by the relay station, help arrived quickly. However, not before the PDF on prime had been forced to withdraw to the forge factories and food stores, leaving the Chaos rebel's to govern the planet as they will.
On secundus, which was seen as less important, a mop-up team of 4 imperial guard regiments was dispatched to hold and establish a base from which they could cleanse the surface of the Ork menace. The Landing ships met resistance from the remaining Ork vessels, but the Imperial guard managed to make planet fall and engage with the battle hungry green skins around secundus's capital.
On prime, 6 Imperial guard regiments and a contingent of space marines were assigned to liberate the planet from its own population. The imperial guard were given the duty of relieving the PDF whilst the space marines would deep strike to the centre of the Chaos infestation and quell the uprising with a few decisive strikes.
I have deliberately left the exact rules of this campaign up to the players you. This is designed so that you play a game with the restrictions and special rules set out here, then e-mail me your results, so that over a month a massive world wide campaign is fought out in all the incarnations of Warhammer 40,000 and the results posted here. Then with redrawn lines of battle new objectives and an even more intricate plot, the world gets to carry on the fight for the Joryan system for the next month. And so on this goes until one side is batted down into the mists of time and the victor dances on their bodies.
You can e-mail me at
wh4ok@hotmail.com. Be adventurous with your replies, I don't want a bunch of random statistics; tell me what scenario you were playing, who was the hero of the battle, just how hard were those terminators to kill (write a whole battle report if like, it might just find its way onto my site!)
Joryan secundus
: Battles should be played as Imperial guard vs. Orks. This can be in epic or 40K style games, and the mission matters little, any type of game can be passed off easily enough. Battle fleet gothic games should take place between the Imperial navy and Orks (although space marines would probably join this battle after their troops have been deployed), and should be the planet fall mission. This has been left open so it can serve as an intro to the campaign; maps and special scenarios come once the basic work has been set!Joryan prime
: Battles should be fought between Space marines and Imperial guard vs. Chaos. I have not specified which chapter of space marines to give the player an open book, assume its a crusade army, then lots of different chapters would be present. If you like 2nd edition 40K or have your own house rules for chaos cultists then these would be ideal for representing the fighting. You could even use 3rd edition rules for Imperial guard for the cultists, but otherwise use a chaos space marine army as the revolutionary force. It is not inconceivable that a contingent of sisters of battle is at work on the planet, leading to fights between them selves and the powers of Chaos.
So don't let me keep you from it- get fighting those battles NOW!
