In my beaded jewelry I find myself trying to interpret nature's intricacies of light and colors from forms and scenes found on land and in the sea. While gardening is a pleasurable past-time this referrence is also present with the wonderful array of colors in nature that I try to reflect in my jewelry creations, and since most of the materials used are natural gemstones, nature's painterly palette guides the creation of each piece. Therefore, an inventory of beads is required to allow for an adequate array of colors and shapes and sizes to choose from, presenting the ever present problem of never having enough beads to select from; a classic symptom of "Bead-itis" ~ "I've just gotta' have that bead!"
I try to create my pieces to cause a curiosity of what is incorporated in each piece by using various sizes, shapes and even different minings or origins of the same stone to stimulate one's eye into probing into and around each piece. The "Satellite" braceletes were created to be enjoyed on the wearer's arm so to be viewed easier by the owner and not only by admirers. The array of colors used are chosen to flow into each other and also to explode with excitement so that something new is seen every time the piece is studied and played with - these are definitely a "fondle-please touch" type of jewelry. The concept of the "Satellite" bracelet's design has also been created around the problem of either hiding the clasp or finding one that is pleasant to look at and able to be incorporated into the design - to eliminate these problemls the clasp has been done away with all together.
I hope that you will enjoy exploring my jewelry as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
