These lists were obtained by me from the studios themselves and were received in the from of letters or information packets. I have used the words or paraphrased the words of each studio. The requirements are subject to change. Each studio reserves the rights to its animation information that it distributes. Please do not abuse these lists. All applicants should contact the studio personally before sending their portfolio; this is just a reference for use in preparing your work!

Each studio had its own standards of what it would like to see. However, there are some running themes seen through everyone's lists. Life drawing is best, especially in the form of gestures (very quick loose sketches.) DO NOTsend originals. Send slides when applicable, xeroxes of flips are ok! All work should be well packaged and easy to handle. Send a self-addressed stamped envelope to ensure your work's safe return to you! Good Luck!

Basic Portfolio:

1.Several pages of life drawing from life

2.sketchbooks of gesture drawings of people and animals

3.samples that reflect color and design sense

4.some work based on imagination

5.a few pieces tha display cartooning skills. Not interpretations of Disney or other classic characters

Animation Portfolio

1.basic elements as outlined above

2.video reel of animated scenes

3.Two or Three animation flips

4.other applicable designs or drawings that show your experience and skill.

1.Approximately 10 samples of life and gesture drawings of humans and animals

2.Sketchbook, if available

3.Samples of personal artwork

4.A reel of animation, if available

5.samples of effects design work, if available

6.one or twoflippables scenes of animation (if possible)

1. A reel of animation no longer than 5 min in length accompanied by a detailed description of your role in each scene

2. 2-3 flippable scenes of animation
