Ya know what I think? |
Could be musicians, could be people in the news.
The flip side of the above.
My opinions of some of the music world's more calming contributors.
My conscience and inspiration urged me to re-update my site with something more creative, more productive than my rant from yesterday. So here is my advice to the media and parents all over the world.
There are no easy answers. You can't blame it on the music, the games, or television. Millions of people watch/play these things every day without going berserk. The PARENTS have to know about their children's mental health. If they don't know, who does?
Children HAVE to know that they are loved. They MUST have parents growing up. They NEED our guidance and help to grow up well. As humans, we have to learn our values from SOMEONE, and school won't do that for us. The idea of morals and values has to come from somewhere.
Now, my advice for the children, and the outcasts especially. It gets better. Just make it through high-school, and it all gets better. In college, you don't HAVE to hang out every day with people who don't like you. You will find friends. You are not alone. You will find yourself. You will go to your 10-year reunion some day, and get along with the people who teased you.
My high-school years were hell, but it doesn't matter to me any more. I wouldn't wish it on anyone else, but it CAN be done.
To the "In crowd". When one member of a team has trouble the other members help out. You must apply this to personal lives as well. When one member of your school doesn't fit in, you must take extra effort to encourage them, not to ridicule them. The differences between us: race, religion, personal interests, they are what we NEED to live. They have value. You just might find a really good friend where you least expect it.
