  • There's a tourney up in Whangarei next February we'll probably field a team for (Still sorting out financing, availability, you know how it is...), and we're trying to track down rumours of a 3-Man somewhere in Auckland, sometime next year.

  • Practice, practice, practice.....

  • News Flash! Stay tuned for some pretty major changes to the Syrians as a whole early next year!

Intense! This was the first tournament the Syrians have played together as a team, and we loved it! With so much talent and experience in attendance it was a learning experience for us from the word go. Everyone was friendly & helpfull, a total of eleven team we placed 9th overall A special thanks goes to Team Raven for ... us beer, on saturday night when we found ourselves a few short. Thanks guys!

NZNPL 2nd Division (February-September '97)
Wow, it's finally over! We made it through the season, had a great time, played on some new fields, and met a whole lot of new people.
The pressure was on for the last round, we were in a position where we could have ended up with a final ranking of anywhere from 1st to 6th. But it wasn't to be: Coming up against Kamo-Kazi was like running into brick wall (a very, very fast moving brick wall!). We ended up with 5th place, and are still scratching our heads wondering how they did it to us. :)
We have to says thanks to all the teams we played against during the season. Win or lose we learnt something from almost every game we played, and our play has improved because of this.
We'll be back next year...

Bay Route (February '97)
Hastings was a blast! It was the second time we've been down to Hawks Bay for one of their big scenario games, and although there were less people this year, everybody had a great time.
The highlight was, of course, playing in Fantasy Land again. Plenty of great stories came out of the weekend, but one of the best has to be 40 odd players wielding a bewildering array of hardware, interrupting what appeared to be some sort of romantic interlude, involving a young gentleman, and two (!) young ladies in the Fantasy Land tree-house. (at 8 O'clock in the morning, in a closed Amusement park!!??). Quick thinking by a couple of players had the game stopped, and the civilians escorted from the park, before play continued.
A big thanks to Gordon, Craig, Les, and the Hawks Bay paintball lads. We'll be back next year, and we can heartily encourage any players who haven't been down, to check it too.
