coin made of meteorite in Yuan Dynasty. The
inscription read Zhi Zheng Tung Bao. It was
during 1341-1370 A.D. this meteorite first
came to being as a coin. The coin was white
when it was first made. The oxidization of
its content of iron resulted in change of
color. |

coin was not made for the purpose of circulation
like the ones made of brass in same size.
Rather, according to Chinese custom, it was
intended to give extra power of protection
for anyone who owned it. |
