Hi, I'm Michael King...

For some people, I'm probably their worst nightmare -- outspoken, black and conservative. For more open-minded people, I hope that a black and conservative point of view will give them a chance to think outside the box...in a way that they haven't before.

I was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. Gary's a part of the rusting, industrial Midwest, and long a bastion of more "liberal" Democratic, black politics. However, I certainly would not consider myself an oxymoron by any stretch of the imagination.

I've been living in the Atlanta area for the last seven years. I came here as a radio talk show host, and ended up working with my other "chosen field," the dot-com world.

Unfortunately, Black Conservatives have been maligned across the board, simply for having the "nerve" to think outside the mainstream, and to vocalize their thoughts. To those who get upset with me, I ask, "Isn't this a country where there is a freedom of expression?" The answer that I get back from some, is no. Those people insist that because I think differently, that I have "sold out" or some other drivel.

All I ask is for you to read our works with an open mind. You may disagree with some of our thoughts, but you may find that you agree with some as well. Just take the time to look -- you may surprise yourself.
