This is the first bike I ever owned. It's a Yamaha DT50, top speed 35mph. I got it a few weeks after my 16th birthday. I had it for just over a year (it's all you're allowed until you turn 17). Learned a lot on that bike, only fell off it once. It was built from several different bikes by a bike shop in Paisley, hence the "Q" plate. Q 399 PDS |

This was my second bike, a Honda H100A. Got this when I turned 17. Top speed 65mph. I learned a lot more on this one, crashed it several times (broke my collar bone when I passed a car as it decided to turn right as I was passing ...) Flew over bonnet and landed in the gutter. Fell of it a few times as well. I did a lot of running around town on this one, hanging out on Greenock Esplanade at night with a bunch of other like minded bods. Got pulled over by the police a lot on this bike, especially after I changed the exhaust to a 'Micron'. They would pull me over ever two weeks for several months, then it just stopped. I figured by that time they all got to know me and knew I was 'legal' (licence, tax, MoT and insurance). KYS 830 Y |

This was my third bike, another Honda H100A. I got this from my friend Billy who wiped out big time when he and I were racing. He hit a concrete lamp post at 40mph and spent a long time in hospital. He still walks with a limp. His parents made him give up bikes. RDS 975 W |

This is one of my favorite bikes, a Kawasaki Z250. Twin cylinder, 4 stroke. My first 'real' bike (or so I thought). It never went over 70mph due to the fact the points were shot. I tried forever to get a pair from a local bike shop (Swift), but they never came in. A week after I eventually got them I sold the bike (and points) to a pal. He fitted the new points and got 90mph out of it. I was SO pissed off. KDS 315 V |
