The Middletown Poetry Circle began holding meetings in
February of 1996 and was founded by Sandy Gordon. Membership is free
and voluntary. All who enjoy poetry are welcome. Below are the
purpose and goals of our group.

To raise public awareness of
poetry; deepen the understanding of different types of poetry
To encourage more people to read,
listen to, and write poetry
To promote literacy through the
arts
To promote the bi-directional
community involvement through increased awareness and participation in the
literary arts
Our Goals
To motivate poetic creativity
through reading, writing, and discussing poetry
To provide an avenue for enjoyment
and an outlet for creativity for all who are interested in the literary
field of poetry
