CHARACTER: | Easy warmup waves lead to more action until a very mean, sticky looking hole at a long defunct dam. |
GAUGE: | U.S.G.S. gauge: min=?, opt=?, high=? |
SEASON: | Almost always enough water, just different challenges based on level. |
This is a rather short, but potentially intense piece of water.
Various waves and holes may exist at higher flows, in which the paddler
may play, but the main concern is a large constriction where a huge rock
and cement remnants of a dam divert the water into a diagonal wave/hole
with great intensity at almost any water level. At extreme flows,
there will be an additional channel to the left, as well as a potential
right-side sneak, but the drop would be very intimidating.
In the pool below the drop (reportedly at levels around 8.1-8.3) I'm told the waves and holes offer some great play. (I've not been there to verify this first-hand.) |
