Hello all! This is the first part I promised earlier today. I've been warned by my brilliant beta Dru that this is a tissue moment during the fic. A bit angsty...

I must warn that this part does contain rape, though not in graphic form, so proceed with caution.

That being said...here you go! Star

Chapter 25 Part 1
Night Time Attack

"I'm sick of doing homework," Ron muttered. He slammed his book closed and lay back on the floor.

Ron, Harry, Draco and Hermione were sitting in the floor of the Gryffindor common room. After dinner they had decided to go to Gryffindor Tower to work on their homework. There were other Gryffindors scattered throughout the common room, but they left the four alone.

Harry closed his Transfiguration textbook. "So what do you want to do now?"

Ron shrugged. "I don't know. Why don't we play a game or something? I got that Muggle game that my father gave me. We could play that."

Harry looked at Draco. "What do you think? You want to play, or would you rather go back to our room?"

Draco was tired, but he felt guilty about taking away Harry's time with his friends, so he said, "That's fine. We can play for a while."

"Great!" Ron exclaimed happily. "I just need some help finding all the game pieces. Seamus, Dean and Neville got into a pillow fight earlier, and they knocked it off the shelf. The pieces scattered, and I haven't found a couple of them yet. Could you help me out?"

"Sure," Harry said, jumping up off the floor. He looked at Draco. "You coming?"

Draco shook his head. "I think I'll just stay here and wait for you. I think the two of you can manage just fine without me."

"All right, but don't leave without me, okay?"

"Oi! Go on. I'll be fine."

Harry and Ron ran upstairs to the boy's dorm. Hermione gathered her books and stood up. "I'm going to put these in my room. I'll be back down in a minute."

Draco nodded sleepily and Hermione ran upstairs. She put her books away, but Lavender had a question about their Charms homework, and it took Hermione a while to explain it to her.

Draco waited for about ten minutes, until the hostility in the room became too much for him to tolerate. He was sleepy anyway, and he didn't want to wait for Harry. It wasn't fair for Harry just to leave early just for him. He was sure he would be fine going to their room by himself just this once. The fact that his need for rest might be clouding his judgement never occurred to him as he calmly rose from the floor and headed for the door. He didn't want to grab the cloak or the Marauder's Map, which were in Harry's book bag, because he thought Harry would need them, and he didn't want the others still sitting in the room to think he was stealing from Harry. Besides, they weren't supposed to know of the existence of the map or the cloak.

He stepped out of the painting and quickly walked down the hallways. It was quiet…eerily quiet. He guessed that most of the students were either in their towers or in the library. He stepped onto the stairway that would lead him down into the dungeons, but when he was halfway down them, they decided it would be fun to change on him.

"Shit!" he hissed to himself as he stepped off and headed down a hallway he didn't know. He moved a little quicker, wary of this little used part of Hogwarts, cursing his uncharacteristic stupidity with every step he took. He reached an intersection that had three options. He growled in frustration and chose the one that most likely led him closer to the dungeons.

"Fuck!" he swore when he reached a dead end. He was about to turn around when he felt a hand clamp around his wrist. He tried to scream, but another hand clamped his mouth shut. His wand was wrenched from his grasp and his attackers shoved him against the wall.

Draco got a good look at the two holding him before they grabbed his hair and slammed his head into the wall. His eyes became blurry and stars exploded inside his head, so bright they were almost blinding.

"Well, little Death Eater, it's time that someone taught you a lesson. You may be able to fool Harry Potter and his stupid little tagalongs, but you'll never fool us."

Draco sneered. He knew that voice well enough and it didn't belong to either one of the boys holding him. "I should have known, Nathaniel. What would your daddy say if he knew of your cowardice? A Slytherin should be above this behaviour…a true Slytherin at any rate. Having members of other houses helping you? No wonder my father said Voldemort thought your family was too stupid to join his forces." Draco knew that he was most likely going to be left to die, so he had nothing to lose. He didn't see how anyone would find him in time.

Another boy spoke up. That would make four. Draco saw the boy out of the corner of his eye, and he could see that it was the Hufflepuff boy that Harry had told him wrote the hateful letter. "Shut up, you pathetic cocksucker! You've made life a living hell for the students here, and now it's time to reap what you have sown."

Draco wasn't given the chance for retort. He was grabbed and thrown onto the floor. His attackers covered him, beating every inch of flesh they could find.

Nathaniel and the Hufflepuff boy, his name escaped Draco for the time being, took turns pounding his face into a bloody pulp while one of the others kicked him repeatedly and the fourth slammed his fists into Draco's ribs.

Draco's eyes watered as he felt and heard the sickening crunch of his nose breaking, but he wouldn't give them the satisfaction of crying out in his pain, even when they broke his cheekbone and jaw.

Draco thanked the higher powers when they finished their beating, but horror burned bright in his mind and his heart when he felt them rip his pants off.

Draco bit his tongue to keep from screaming out in pain as the first of his attackers slammed his cock into his ass. It felt like his body was ripping him in two as he was savagely thrust into. He mercifully passed out when the second, larger boy rammed his cock deep inside him.

*************************************************************************

"I can't believe it took us twenty minutes to find those pieces," Ron muttered as he and Harry walked back down from the dorm rooms.

Hermione looked up from her place on the couch. "Oi, where's Draco?"

Harry looked around frantically. "He was supposed to be down here. He didn't come up to find us."

Ron stomped over to the table where four fourth year Gryffindors were playing cards. "Did you see Draco?"

They nodded. One of them said, "He left about ten minutes ago."

Ron and Harry were livid. "And you didn't come and get us? Didn't you hear us tell him not to leave without me?" Harry screamed.

The four looked at each other guiltily. "It's just Malfoy," one of them muttered.

Harry glowered. "You had better hope that he's okay, because if anyone has hurt one hair on his head, so help me, I will make your lives a living hell until I leave this school." He turned to the others scattered throughout the common room. "The same goes for you lot. You're just as horrible as these four!"

Hermione ran to Harry's pack while he was threatening the lives of their fellow Gryffindors and pulled out the Marauder's Map. She tapped it and said, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good." The Map came to life and she whispered, "Show me Draco and those around him, please!" The Map obeyed, and to her utter horror, she saw Draco in an unused part of the school, surrounded by four dots. She recognized the names of each of them: Nathaniel Merrick and Dylan Blake of Slytherin, Armenio Cyrus of Ravenclaw, and Tobey Allen of Hufflepuff.

"Oh my God! Harry, we've got to get to Draco, now!" Hermione screamed. The dot that said Malfoy was slowly starting to fade. "I think he's dying!"

Harry threw an evil look to all of the Gryffindors that were in the common room as he ran out the door. As they ran through the door, they ran into Dean, Seamus, Neville, Colin and a fourth year named Octavius.

"What's wrong?" Dean yelled as the five fell in line behind the three running out of the tower.

"Draco's being attacked. I think he's dying. We've got to get to him. Octavius, go get Madame Pomfrey. Tell her to meet us on the second floor in the south wing, near where the old Potions classroom used to be. Hurry!" Harry yelled as he charged down the stairs.

Octavius shouted his agreement and he ran quickly for the hospital wing.

The seven ran down the hallway, and Harry watched as the four dots around Draco started moving in their direction. He stopped the other six before they turned the corner and he showed them the Map. They all pulled their wands out and as the four bastards that hurt their friend turned the corner, they shouted, "Stupefy!" The assailants were effectively rendered unconscious.

They ran down the hallway, their wands lighting up the passageway, and at the end of the hall they found Draco.

Harry sank to his knees in horrified shock. Hermione screamed and started crying. Ron held her while he looked at his friend, his brother's boyfriend, in horror. Dean and Neville turned away, unable to look at the terrible scene before them, and Colin went back towards the hallway's entrance and threw up.

Madame Pomfrey, who had heard Hermione's scream all the way from the stairwell, ran to the teens. "Oh my lord! What in Merlin's name happened here?"

Harry answered, tears running down his face. "Those four bastards did this to him. He left the tower without me, and I guess they were waiting for him."

Madame Pomfrey quickly stabilized Draco as much as possible, stopping his bleeding where she was able. "I must get him to the hospital wing, now. Hermione, Ron, could you two go and bring Albus and Severus to the hospital wing? Harry, follow me. The others, if you would be so kind to levitate those four little monsters to the hospital wing? Albus can figure out how to punish those brutes."

Pomfrey covered Draco and quickly but gently levitated him. She hurried to the hospital wing as fast as she dared. Harry followed quickly behind, carrying Draco's wand and book bag.

"I'll get Professor Dumbledore. 'Mione, go get Snape."

Hermione nodded, wiping her tears away. She ran down the hallway, passing Pomfrey and Draco carefully, and sped down toward the dungeons as fast as her feet would allow. Ron did the same, except he headed upstairs and in the opposite direction.

Hermione found her professor in his office. "P-p-professor!" she cried out, sobbing heavily. "D-drac-c-o! He's in the h-h-hospital wing. He w-w-was a-attacked!" This was all she managed to get out of her mouth. It was more than enough information to get Severus out of his chair and sprinting down the hallway, a still-sobbing Hermione running behind him.

Ron made it to Dumbledore's office. Just as he was about to start pounding on the gargoyle in the front of him, Albus walked out of his office. "What's the matter, child? I feel that something has happened in the school."

Ron nodded. "It's Draco. He was attacked, beaten and raped. He's in the hospital wing. We caught the four who did it to him. Pomfrey wants you there, now. Please hurry, Professor."

Albus motioned for the boy to follow him into the office, and he used his fireplace to Floo directly into the hospital wing. "How is he, Poppy? Where are the scoundrels that caused harm to this boy?"

Pomfrey motioned to where Dean, Colin, Seamus and Neville were standing. They were keeping guard on the four boys, in case they had the unhappy fortune of waking up any time soon.

"I can attest to the fact that these four were the ones who raped this poor child," Poppy said tearfully, motioning to the battered and bruised Slytherin boy.

Albus felt sick when he saw young blond boy he had grown to love over the last couple of years. He'd found out about Lucius's treatment of the boy, and he'd tried to convince the Ministry that Draco would be much better off with his uncle, but it was to no avail. Cornelius Fudge always loved to prove how much of an idiot he was. Albus had been ecstatic when Lucius was finally caught and the boy was able to live with his uncle. Speaking of Severus…"Where's Severus? He should be here."

"I'm right here," came the sharp reply as the forbidding Potions master burst through the door. He took one look at his nephew and started shaking. "Who did this? I want to know right now. I want to see them hanging off the Astronomy Tower by their entrails! Who did it!"

Harry pointed toward the beds occupied by the attackers. Severus snarled and started toward them, but Albus stopped him. "They will be taken care of in due time, Severus. They will be charged with attempted murder, and you well know what the wizarding world's punishment is for the crime of rape…all of us do. Right now your nephew needs you, as do these other children. They found our poor Draco, and I'm sure that the scene was not pretty."

Severus sat down on the bed next to Draco's and placed his head in his hands. Harry sat next to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Severus pulled away abruptly and glared.

Albus sighed wearily. He knew the scene between Harry and Severus was not going to be pretty, not at all. He could already see that Severus would blame Harry for this, simply because he was not there to protect Draco. It didn't matter whether or not Draco went away on his own. This was simply Severus. He was extraordinarily protective of Draco, and he put his little 'dragon's' welfare well above all else, becoming completely and utterly unreasonable. He would blame Harry, at least until he heard the truth from Draco's own mouth. Until then, heaven and the gods help Harry, because no one else could.

Harry flinched and took his hand away. His feelings were a bit hurt, but he dismissed Severus's sudden coldness as concern for his nephew. Harry was sure that once he told Severus the truth, his lover would allow him to comfort him.

Harry, Severus and the others all stayed quiet while Poppy continued examining, healing and feeding Draco various potions. Finally, after a couple of hours, she placed a Deep healing spell on Draco and turned to face the others. "He was beaten, and badly. He's sustained several broken bones. Most of his ribs were cracked, a lung was punctured, and his jaw, nose and right cheekbone were broken. He sustained a hairline fracture on his skull, and his right leg and left arm were also broken. He was also brutally raped by all four boys, from what the tests show. I've healed as much as I could, and now all he needs is some rest. I've placed him in a healing coma. He'll only wake up when he's fully healed, but he'll have to stay in bed for at least a week after that. He'll need to regain both his physical and emotional strength."

As soon as she was finished, Fred and George Weasley burst through the door. Ron had called them while Poppy was healing Draco. He knew that Fred would never forgive him if he hadn't let him know right away. But he'd had to owl him, and since the twins had been in a meeting, their secretary hadn't given the note to them directly.

Fred ran up to the bed and knelt beside his boyfriend. He lightly pushed his hair off his face and kissed his forehead affectionately. "I'm here, love. I'm here." He turned to Poppy. "What happened? What's wrong with him?" Poppy told him everything that she had told the others, and tears were streaming down Fred's face by the time she finished.

From the looks in Severus's and Fred's eyes, Albus decided it would be better to place the four assailants in another room guarded by teachers. He was just as angry as they were, but he was thinking more clearly. Besides, a long stay in Azkaban was in store for these four, since they had attempted murder. And while sex wasn't a taboo subject in the wizarding world, nor was promiscuity or homosexuality strictly frowned upon, rape was considered abhorrent and the penalty was a very long stay in Azkaban. Who was he to stand in the way of a fitting sentence?

Albus sighed and looked toward Severus. "Severus, could you please escort Harry down to his room? I don't wish to find another student of ours lying in a coma next to Draco. The others will be safe, since they're all from the same house." Albus knew that if Severus and Harry were going to have a falling out, it was best they do it in private. "Then you can come back. I think Fred may want a few minutes alone with his boyfriend."

Severus nodded absently, his hand stroking Draco's. He got up and walked silently out of the hospital wing, Harry trailing behind him.

They walked to the dungeons in silence. When they walked into Severus's rooms, Harry couldn't stand the silence anymore. "Sev, I'm really sorry that Draco was hurt. You have to know that I would have stopped them if I could have." Harry looked at Severus imploringly. Severus ignored Harry, searching for a book to take back to the library. It was a book that he used to read to Draco when he was younger, "Treasure Island". He found it high on a shelf and he dusted it off.

Harry stepped up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Sev, please talk to me."

Severus whirled around, yanking his shoulder away and stepping out of reach. "Don't you ever touch me again, you pathetic creature! How dare you leave my nephew to be ripped apart by those vultures? What kind of friend are you, to let him wander around on his own when you knew they were out for his blood? I trusted you implicitly with my nephew's life, allowing you to drag him throughout the school without an escort, and you betrayed me! I won't allow this to happen again, I assure you, Mr. Potter."

Harry's body wracked with sobs. "I didn't allow him to do anything! He promised me-"

"Shut up, Potter! I don't want to hear it!" Severus roared, eyes blazing. "I don't want to hear anything coming from that lying mouth of yours! You disgust me!"

Harry stepped back, flinching from the hate and rage radiating off his professor's body and lighting up his eyes. "Please, Severus, don't do this," he begged.

"Don't you ever call me by my name again. You will only address me as Professor Snape from now on. Now get out of my room, and I will see to it that you are out of the dungeons by week's end. I don't want you anywhere near me or my nephew. Now get out!"

Harry ran from the room and threw himself on his bed. He ignored Luthien's questions and sobbed himself to sleep.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

"I love you, Harry," Severus whispered as he rocked his body gently, thrusting deep inside the body of his young lover.

"I love you, Sev," Harry whispered back, closing his eyes and losing himself in the pleasure of being taken by the man that he was sure he would someday marry and spend the rest of his long life with.

Harry's eyes snapped open as he heard a hissing laugh near his ear. He looked straight into the red eyes of his most hated enemy, Voldemort.

"Isn't that sweet, Potter," the red-eyed, reptilian-looking monster spit at the young Gryffindor as he slammed his cock deep inside him. "Confessing your love to my little traitor. I'm sure he appreciates it. I know I do."

Harry screamed as he felt himself being ripped in two. He tried to get away, but the more he fought, the worse the pain became. He fought the urge to throw up as Voldemort caught his mouth in a searing kiss and forced his tongue inside-

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Harry sat up in bed, screaming as loud as his lungs would allow. His body trembled so hard the entire bed shook.

He got up and headed towards Severus's rooms. He didn't care how mad Severus would be when he found Harry in his bed. Harry just needed to be where he felt safe.

He was abruptly stopped at the door. He tried to get through, but the way was blocked. Severus had locked him out of his rooms.

Harry sat down on the couch, his body shaking and tears running down his face. Finally, he got up and used the fireplace to Floo to Sirius and Remus's rooms. He didn't care what they were doing. He just needed to be with someone.

Harry entered their bedroom, finding them both fast asleep in each other's arms. Harry was just going to sit on the chair next to the fireplace and watch them, but Remus sensed him immediately. Remus looked up from the bed. "Harry? What is it?" Remus asked sleepily.

Harry started crying all over again. He sank to the floor and just sobbed. Remus shook Sirius awake and then jumped off the bed and ran to his godson, heedless of his lack of clothing. He picked Harry up easily and carried him to the bed. Sirius gathered Harry to him and Remus snuggled in beside Harry.

"Shh. What is it, Harry? What's happened?"

Harry told them the whole story, including the fact that Severus was angry with him. He left out the part about Severus not wanting to be with him, and he left out the details surrounding the fight, but he told them the rest. He also told them about the rape dream, but he left out whom it was he was originally shagging.

His godfathers sat there in shock, holding him. They hadn't heard a word about what happened to Draco, and Sirius was livid that Albus didn't inform him sooner. He and Remus should have been there for Harry and the others, especially Draco and Severus. Sirius could only imagine what he must be going through. If it were Harry… He shook off that train of thought immediately. He'd be having a little talk with the Headmaster soon. And once Draco was better, he'd be having a little conversation with him about the way he treated Harry.

"Can I stay here with you tonight? I don't want to be alone."

Sirius held Harry closer. "Of course you can, honey. You can stay for as long as you want. You're always welcome."

"He's right, Harry. You don't even have to ask. You're our family." Remus kissed Harry on the forehead.

Harry sniffled. "Thanks."

"No need to thank us. Do you want to see if you can get some sleep?"

Harry nodded, and the three slid down and cuddled close together. Remus and Sirius each wrapped an arm around Harry protectively, wanting to keep away the nightmares that were sure to plague him for a while. Soon the three fell asleep.

"Thirty points from Gryffindor for running in the halls, Potter!" Severus snapped as he walked out of the hospital wing.

Harry winced and slowed down. His eyes followed his ex-lover, watching him glide down toward the dungeons to get ready for his classes today.

It was Tuesday morning, not even 24 hours since he and Severus had last made love, and now their relationship was no more. Harry slowly made his way into the hospital wing, heartbroken, to check on his friend. Fred was sitting with Draco.

"Hi, Fred. How is he?"

"How do you think?" Fred snapped impatiently.

Harry winced. "So you're going to blame me, too?"

"Severus said that-"

Harry stopped him before he went any further. "I don't give a fuck what Snape said! How the hell would he know? He wouldn't let me get a word in last night before he threw me out of his room and out of his life. What does he know? Why don't you go and ask your brother, or the Gryffindor morons who saw him leave after he told me he wouldn't? Oh, and be sure to ask our dear Draco why he lied to me when he wakes up. You know, I'm being blamed for this, and I did nothing wrong! I'm so angry with Draco right now I can't see straight! A part of me wishes he would wake up right now just so I can kill him. I already feel bad enough about not making him come upstairs and help Ron and me. I don't need you adding to it!"

"What are you talking about? Help you and Ron with what?"

Harry sighed and sat down. "We had finished with our homework and we decided to play a game that your father gave Ron, but some of the others had a pillow fight and it got knocked off the shelf, and the pieces were scattered. Ron hadn't found all of the pieces, and he asked for our help. We asked Draco, but he said he'd wait downstairs. I told him not to leave, and he said he wouldn't. We took a while, because one of the main pieces was lodged between the bed and the wall, and wouldn't come when we summoned it. It was no more than half an hour, if that much. We went back downstairs and Hermione was sitting alone. We asked the others, and they said Draco had left ten minutes earlier, though I think it was a bit longer than that. Then we ran to find him and you know what happened."

"I'm sorry I snapped at you, Harry. I just thought that Severus would know what happened."

Harry shook his head and sighed wearily. "He won't listen to me, and he said it was over between us. He'd been trying to figure out a way to make me 'come to my senses' but I guess he doesn't have to try now." Harry choked back a sob. "I don't know what to do now, Fred. I love him so much. I wanted to marry him when I graduated, and have his children. I can't love anyone else. I gave my heart to him, and he's gone and thrown it away."

Fred put an arm around Harry supportively. "I don't know. Perhaps if you give him time, he'll come around."

"If I can ever forgive him. Do you have any idea how much he hurt me? He's never turned his back on me, even when he couldn't stand me. Now, when he's supposed to love me, he shuts me out completely. He was horrible, and he meant what he said. I know he's angry, but he's taking it out on me and I don't deserve that, any more than Draco deserves to be in this bed." Harry sighed heavily. "I guess I had better get to class. I've already missed breakfast."

"That won't be necessary, Harry," Albus said as he walked up to the bed. He looked at Draco lovingly before smiling at Harry sadly. "All those that witnessed this horrendous crime have been excused from classes for the next two days. Get some rest, and take care of yourself."

"What about those things that did this to him?" Harry asked, looking at Draco's unconscious form.

"The Ministry is coming to pick them up later today. They will be charged with attempting murder, assault, and rape. They will be detained by the Ministry until Draco is well enough for the trial. It is likely that the boys' attorneys won't allow them to take Veritaserum, so Draco and those who stopped the boys in the hallway will have to testify against them."

Harry nodded. "All right. Oh, I think I may need a new room. Professor Snape-"

"Severus has already spoken to me. I'm seeing to rooms adjacent to Remus and Sirius's rooms. It will be at least two weeks before they can be ready. Severus has already resigned himself to the fact that you will be there until then. I'm sorry you quarrelled, Harry. I tried talking to him, but when it comes to Draco, he's completely unreasonable."

Harry nodded, unable to speak without bursting into tears. When he calmed himself enough, he said, "I'm going to go and take a walk around the lake."

"All right, Harry. Do be careful," Fred told him, giving him a little hug. Harry kissed Draco on the forehead and left the hospital wing.

Harry stayed outside until it was time for lunch. He took his accustomed seat at the fifth table, along with those that regularly sat there. It was a subdued lunch, with all of them doing no more than pick at their food. The rest of the school didn't have much appetite either, having been told what happened after breakfast that morning. Harry made no pretence of eating.

Albus watched Severus deliberately ignore Harry's gaze. Albus had to force Severus to come down and eat lunch. He'd told him that as head of his house, he must show support to the other Slytherins. He'd reluctantly obeyed and was now sitting there stonily, watching the students of his house like a hawk.

Harry finally had enough and walked out of the Great Hall alone. He really didn't want to be with anyone. He wasn't watching where he was going and he ran right into his former lover, who had also decided he'd had more than enough.

"Thirty points for not paying attention." Severus practically hissed the words, and Harry was instantly reminded of the ugly nightmare that he had the night before.

Severus leaned closer. "Stay out of my way, Potter, or you will regret it," he whispered in his deadliest voice, the one that could make a seventh year want to urinate in his trousers.

The voice that usually made Harry's cock spring to life now made him cringe with fear, and he backed away from his professor. "S-sorry, Professor Snape," he muttered, turning and striding down the hallway as quickly as he dared. He'd already lost Gryffindor sixty points in the last hour. They weren't going to be happy about that.
