<- Guardian of the Shikon Jewel. You must awaken to hear this. ->
‘Huh? ..What?’ Kagome got up still fuzzy in the head.
<- Miko. You were never supposed to die. So.. ->
‘WHAT?! I died?!’ Kagome screeched into her mind.
<- *sigh* Yes, you died. I had to bring you back as a hanyou though, or you would’ve died of blood loss. So ->
‘I’m a hanyou now?! What the..? ..But how?’
<- Will you shut up for a second and let me explain?! -> Kagome promptly shut up. <- Thank you. Ok. I had to change you into a hanyou so you wouldn’t die of blood loss. I also awakened all of your hidden Miko abilities. You will be able to do them all on your own time. When you are a high enough skill level, you will be able to use that ability whenever you want. In total, you will be able to fly, move things, mask your sent, heal yourself, perform basic magic spells, like water, fire, earth, gravity, light, and wind, use telepathy, make yourself disappear, create creatures to do stuff at your beck and call, and shapeshift. If you are in dire need of help, call me. ->
‘Wait! Who are you?’
<- Oh yes, I was the first protector of the jewel, Midoriko. Please call me Mio. I currently reside in it. Anymore questions? ->
‘Yes, when is my human night, and how often am I allowed to call you?’ Kagome asked.
<- Your human night are on the full moon and you can call me whenever you want. Just don’t call me for trivial stuff, like just to chat. Deal? ->
‘Ok.. Deal. Quick thing though.. How am I suppoused to get home without people seeing me?’ Kagome asked sheepishly.
<- Just ask. -> Kagome found herself in front of her shrine.
‘Wow. Thanks!’
<- Don’t mention it. -> Kagome felt a force leave her, and she knew that Mio had left her. ‘It’s now or never to figure out if I really have all of my hanyou abilities. She ran from the Go-Shinboku in the direction of her room, and jumped up to her window. With very little stealth, she got into her room and picked up a baseball cap, some sunglasses, some other necessities (like more clothes, toiletries, etc.) and some leather gloves. Right before she left to go train, she looked at herself in the mirror and gasped. ‘Oh my.. kami..’ Before she could faint because of her massive changes, she jumped (literally) away from the mirror and wrote a quick note to her family.
~Everyone. I have recently come into my miko powers and another change, so I will need to find a miko to train me. Please understand. I will come back once I have my miko powers under control. Arigato. Ja.

She tore off the note and left it on her desk. Kagome left the exact way she came – through the window. She ran to the park and jumped into the highest tree. She made sure no one could see her from below, and sent out her aura to try and find a miko and youkai’s aura that might be able to train her. She found 1; A youkai. She decided that she would ask Mio for training of the miko abilities. For now, she would have to settle on training with the youkai in the day and working with Mio later. ‘When did my life get so hectic??’
‘Hey Mio?’
<- ..What? ->
‘Umm I was wondering if you could train me in my miko abilities..’
<- Uh.. Sure.. I won’t be able to physically train you, but I can do all the yelling at you I want. ->
‘Wow. Touching. Any hints about this demon I’m gonna go train under?’
<- Lessee.. Her name is Saikiko. Amazingly, she’s a usu-youkai (bunny demon I think). She will be able to teach you a lot in speed. ->
‘Ok. Thanks Mio. Talk to you later.’
<- One last thing. I won’t be able to train you here, but when you go to the past, I will train you there. I have already found a vacant clearing where I will be able to train you. ->
‘OK. I’m gonna go now. Bye.’ Kagome sped off towards Saikiko to ask if she would train Kagome. She found the house without much trouble and found it was smothered in many different concealing auras. She knocked on the door and a women about the age of Sango opened the door. “Hello. I was wondering if you would be able to train me?” As she said this, she sent a little bit of her aura out to Saikiko.
Saikiko’s eyes widened. “Umm.. Sure. Come in.” After they had both entered the house, she turned around and said, “You’re a hanyou. And a miko. How?”
Kagome sighed. “It’s a long story. I’ll tell you over tea? And by the way. You can take down the concealing spell. I want to see what a real usu-youkai looks like.” She said it like she was talking about a random occurrence, like what she had for dinner.
“How do you know so much?” Saikiko questioned after showing her true form, while preparing the tea. “What do you want?”
After Kagome took her tea, she told the story about her traveling to the past and her adventures in the Sengoku Jidai Era. She then told Saikiko what she wanted. “And that is why I wanted to train with you, Saikiko.”
“Please! Call me Sai! (FINALLY!) Of course I will train you. I need to tell you something though. I am a very very distant cousin of Kouga. When you go back please tell him I say hi. Although he probably won’t know who I am. O well!”
“Would you want to come to the past with me? After we finish training here, there might be more I could learn with you in the past. Please?” Kagome pleaded.
“Well.. Ok! I guess let’s start training now! How long are you here for?”
“However long I like. When I learn all I can, we can go back.”
“Well then. Let’s go to the weapons room and see which ones you are most compatible with, ok?” Sai said as she started walking off.
-5 MONTHS LATER-
“Kag. These 5 months have been really fun. You have matured and have grown in strength and speed. I have taught you all I can teach. We can practice one more time. Two rounds. One with weapons. One without. Are you up to it?” Sai asked one of her best friends.
“Hai. Let’s start.” They both bowed to each other, and about 5 seconds later, began the battle. The first round was the one with weapons. Kagome darted forward and clashed swords with Sai. She jumped over Sai and went to stab her. Sai turned around and pointed the sword to her neck. “I win.” She said. Kagome kicked her feet out and tripped Sai. “Not quite.”
“OK. Draw. Now to do this without weapons.” They sheathed their swords and charged at each other with their claws. Kagome lashed out and cut Sai’s cheek. Sai struck back. Kagome back flipped, but it was too slow. Sai cut her leg, and Kagome couldn’t use it anymore. She fell to the ground. When Sai came to make her surrender, Kagome threw all her weight at Sai and knocked her unconscious.
“Ow..” Kagome said before slumping into unconsciousness, also.
-NEXT DAY-
“Let’s go to the Sengoku Jidai Era today Sai! You said yourself you couldn’t teach me anymore. So let’s go. You can also go see Kouga. He keeps thinking I’m his woman though. It’s the most annoying thing in the world.” Kagome announced the next morning at breakfast.
“Ok. Well go. Do you have everything? Your katana, the Soinu, your nunchucks, and your bows? I still can’t believe that you were the one that the Soinu was made for. O well, only you and people you trust completely can touch it. Only you can wield it, so don’t worry!”
“Got ‘em. I am happy that I don’t have to only rely on my bows anymore. Pack really quickly and probably lightly, we’ll be traveling for a while, after I finish my training. Also you’ll need a jewel shard. Here.” Kagome broke off a piece of the jewel.
<- Ow. That hurts ya' know. ->
‘Sorry Mio. Forgot.’
<- *sweatdrop* It’s fine. Just don’t do it again. ->
‘I’ll try to remember not to. So, I start training when we get there?’
<- Ya. Don’t make this to hard on me. When you/we get there, I will have to use some of your power that you can’t control, to mask our scents. ->
‘But you don’t have a scent!’
<- So? Just shut up. It’ll mask your scents. Better? ->
‘Much.’
“Hey Kag? You coming? The car is running..” Sai shouted.
“Coming!” Kagome shouted back. She ran out the door and into the car.
^Higurashi Shrine^
“We’re going to need to get to the well house without anyone in my house knowing.” Kagome whispered to Sai.
“How are they going to know where you are?” Sai whispered back.
“I’ll come back later and tell them. Don’t worry about it. We go on 3. 1..2..3!” They ran across the yard and quickly into the well house.
Sai asked, “Are you sure you want to do this? It has been 5 months.. What if it doesn’t work?”
Kagome answered, “I already unsealed the well. We’ll be fine. Go! I’ll follow!”
“Fine. You better come.” Sai told Kagome with a threatening tone.
“I will. I will. Now GO!” Sai jumped into the well. Kagome took one last look at her house, sighed, and jumped into the well, being surrounded by the familiar blue light.
