The
Monmouth RFC opened it's clubhouse known as the "the Wilde Rover",
with a Halloween Party on October 28th, 1995.
Over 100 club members and family joined in the inaugural event.
Prior
to the opening of the clubhouse in 1995, club members spent over a year
renovating the apartments and bar. The
initial plan was to renovate the apartments to generate income while the bar
was being renovated. Monmouth was lucky
to have a number of tradesmen and professionals who did the majority part of
the manual labor. When asked to help at
the parties, everyone readily agreed.
But getting the help turned out to be harder than expected.
However,
the clubhouse has turned into a major success.
Hosting The Annual Referees Conference, to hosting an ERU Coaching
Clinic, to hosting the 2000 North East Championships. The clubhouse has become very successful. Any club members who are interested in
renting the clubhouse out for a party, please contact Frank Fischer for the
details. The club is usually available
during the season and off-season unless there is a home game scheduled for the
weekend.
