The Darker Path
About What Lies Here | Vampires | Ghosts | Halloween | Horror Movies | The Darkest Corners As you can see from the imbalance of vampire links, I have a little bit of a vampire obsession. No, I'm not some sort of vampire wanna-be. Of course I would have to think twice before turning down immortality if it were offered to me, but who wouldn't? I am, however, versed in research on the subject. There are generally three aspects of the vampire phenomenon: 1) Fictional vampires and harmless role-play 2) A higher level of consuming role-play basically known as 'vampire lifestyle' 3) Those actually afflicted with a vampiric condition (those known as 'real' vampires), either manifesting that as physical or psychic/emotional/energy vampirism. After that are a couple links to some good ghost story sites. I have one ghost in particular who has given me some personal experiences, hence my belief and interest in the subject. Next are some links pertaining to one of my most favorite holidays, Halloween (or Samhain, if it makes you more comfortable). I place it here for many reasons. Commonly mistaken in America as just being a child's holiday, Halloween actually has Pagan roots. It is the final of the three harvests, and the darkest Sabbat of the year. Halloween is the one time of year that all of us actively recognize and even celebrate the darker, more reflective parts of our human selves. It is okay to look into that place, accept it, and make peace with it. For without the darkness, there can be no light. Following that are my favorite movies limited to a darker genre. Some are pure horror, some are not. Last are the blackest links you will find on this page. They are the purest forms of the darkest corners of the soul. Lust, despair, the macabre.
