February 4th - A lovely weekend

Well it's been another lovely day and weekend.  I'm pretty tired right now, 'cause I've been playing tennis this afternoon.  Flopsy and I start in a competition this Thursday and I'm frankly quite nervous and apprehensive.  Nonetheless I am sure once I get over the initial fright it will be a lot of fun.  We get put into a team with 2 other people, and then play a number of doubles sets over the night.  Anyway, practicing today was good fun and good preparation, and now I'm knackered.

Apart from that we haven't really done a lot of things, but it's been relaxing and pleasant.  I bought some prawns today from the fish shop up the road and made a prawn cocktail with lettuce and Free Thousand Island Dressing which has very very little fat in it.  It tasted bloody marvellous so I had it both for lunch and dinner.  I had also made one of the low fat chocolate cakes the other night, and we polished that off for dessert, which I had with 1/2 cup of skim milk.  Yum!  And relatively good for me (well relatively not very bad for me anyway).

I have also been trying and succeeding in eating more apples so hopefully this practice will keep up.  One of the the things I am finding is that if I try something and it works, and then I forget for a little while, I'm able to pick it back up again.  I don't know why this is working, but it is.  I think it's just part of the change in mentality that I have about making each choice a conscious one.   Therefore, the fact that I didn't get around to having an apple two days ago doesn't have to affect my decision making today.  It makes sense to me anyway.  And what I'm finding is that little by little, good choices are building up, so that I am making an array of good choices every day.
