Group role-play: Search for Information (Aewyr, Kerowa)
Kerowa | Aewyr | Aewyr
Kerowa
Kerowa sighed as she sifted through the reports that had returned.
Nothing. No news at all. Normally no news was good news, but in
this case, she was puzzled. The only daughter of the Margrave Duldrith,
albeit a minor noble, runs away and there is no news of it and no
reports to attempt to find her. She had even asked through less
legitimate channels to see if perhaps the Margrave was embarrassed
and used less public channels to find his daughter. Still no news
though. Kerowa sighed as she thought again of the promise she made
to Aiviey. Margravine Aiviey she reminded herself.
If only she could get help with this case. She was still new to
the area and to the politics and wasn't as comfortable with finding
out information as Sha-Dar Gares or Aran. A promise was a promise
though and she was daughter. Kerowa smiled slightly. How better
to find information than to go straight to the source. Kerowa nodded
slightly. She would go in the morning. She glanced around the dining
hall and smiled slightly at all the newer recruits.
'Hm.. Aewyr has been training pretty hard lately and has been fairly
sheltered. Perhaps she would enjoy the journey. I’ll ask Aiviey.'
she thought. After a quick consultation with Aiviey, who rather
liked the young excitable Aewyr, Kerowa approached Aewyr.
'Aewyr, I'm going to be making a trip up north to ask around for
information. Would you like to accompany me?'
'Oh yes! When do we leave?' Aewyr exclaimed happily. Aewyr was happy
that here she was accepted as a full member of the clan.

Aewyr
Aewyr hummed quietly to herself as she packed a few canvas bags
full of food and blankets to tie up on the horses in the morning.
She was rather excited about taking a trip outside the city of Camaar
and hadn't really thought to question why Kerowa had asked her to
leave with her. After she finished tying up the canvas sacks she
sat down in a cot and began to contemplate.
'You know, I've never really thought about why Kerowa asked me to
tag along,' she thought to herself aloud. 'She said she was seeking
information, but for what? And what part in this do I play?' She
knit her eyebrows and began furiously chewing on her nail as she
thought about this question. 'No matter,' she said with a sigh,
'I can always ask her tomorrow. I should probably sleep.' She leaned
back in the cot, slowly easing her mind from it's unanswered question
and drifted off to sleep.
The next morning turned out to be a bad start. The air was wet with
dew that was brought off from the sea and the sky was overcast and
gray. Aewyr and Kerowa set out through the cobble stoned streets
of Camaar just before the city awakened. They were a few leagues
away from the city by the time the golden rays of sunlight peeked
over the horizon.
'Kerowa,' Aewyr began, huddling deep within the folds of her heavy
woolen cloak to warm herself, 'What is it exactly that we're doing?
What information are we seeking?'
The little Rivan woman waited a moment before speaking. 'You know
of the Margravine" Aiviey, correct?' Aewyr shook her head.
'What's a Margravine"?' she asked. She had a very limited knowledge
of kingdoms and nobility. She lived her entire life in a close-knit
society of nomadic Algars. Permanent establishments like kingdoms
and royalties never really applied to her and she had a very vague
understanding of them.
Kerowa looked at her quizzically, but after a moment seemed to understand
Aewyr's disposition. 'Well, a margrave is like a lesser noble. They
are still rather important in the grand scheme of things. Aiviey
is the daughter of the Margrave Duldrith, but she fled from home
to avoid marriage.'
Aewyr's eyes went wide. 'Surely marriage can't be that terrible.'
Kerowa sighed and began explaining the details about the royal society
and about arranged marriages. Aewyr listened intently, but seemed
boggled by the whole concept. 'In any case,' Kerowa said finally,
'I'm trying to find out what is going on with her father... Why
he hasn't set out any reports searching for her... Just find out
about this situation. I made a promise to Aiviey that I must keep.'
Aewyr nodded and left it at that. They kicked their horses forward
and headed north toward Sendar.

Gares' contribution: "Adventures".
Aewyr
Kerowa and Aewyr arrived in Sendar with the blazing afternoon sun
beating upon their backs. They were both weary from travel and agreed
they would make for a tavern for some rest and a cool drink.
Their travel so far had been pleasant and turned out to be quite
an awakening for Aewyr. She saw new lands and new ways of life that
intrigued her and was constantly plaguing Kerowa with questions.
The little Rivan responded with patience and a vast supply of wisdom
that one would never expect. Her small stature and sunny disposition
made her appear childlike and often times Aewyr was caught by surprise
at how much Kerowa really knew about the world. In some ways, Kerowa
became a mentor to Aewyr in skills beyond ordinary sword fighting,
but more than anything she became a friend. While it would seem
than an Algar and a Rivan would make an unlikely pair, they bonded
easily. Aewyr's youth naturally made her quite excitable and it
mixed well with Kerowa's bubbly personality. Laughter emanated from
them as they traveled through the dusty roads of Sendar.
After tying up their horses, they entered a dimly lit tavern to
relax and happened to meet a Toldnedran woman known as Hafwen. She
asked to accompany them on their pursuit for information on the
Margrave Duldrith and the two travelers accepted. They continued
their evening with Hafwen and Aewyr becoming greatly inebriated
and where they also met the Rivan man, Joran. As the evening quieted,
the three women set off for sleep to ready themselves for their
travels that would continue to Northern Sendaria the following morning.
