She waits.
The sun shines brightly on the open grasslands, a cool breeze blowing
across the plains. The Drasnian stands at the crossroads waiting,
rather patiently she thinks, for someone. The afternoon wears on.
She waits.
A cloud of dust appears on the horizon chasing after a horse and
rider. The rider comes to a halt just before the Drasnian and waits
while the dust settles. The Drasnian nods a greeting. Nodding in
return, the Nadrak dismounts and reaches into a pouch. The Drasnian
steps back, hand automatically going to her dagger. The Nadrak raises
a hand and pulls a parchment from the pouch.
She waits.

...
"Have you been waiting long?"
"Only since mid-morning."
"My apologies. My horse came up lame and I..."
"No, no need to apologize. Did you bring it?"
"Of course. ... Ah, h...relax, I'm just reaching for the letter."
"Sorry, tense."
"Understandable. ..."
...
"Is this all he gave you?"
"Yes."
"Let me just read through it..."

Chewing her bottom lip, she reads the letter carefully. She looks
up at the Nadrak, an unspoken question in her eyes. The Nadrak nods,
then rummages through her saddlebag again, this time producing a
large ruby. The Drasnian raises an eyebrow. The Nadrak nods again.
With trembling hands, she reaches for the gem, suddenly unsure if
she really wants to get into this. The Nadrak smiles knowingly.
One more time into the saddlebag, this time coming up with a small
pouch. She hands it to the Drasnian, who looks at it quizzically
before opening it.
The Drasnian gasps. The pouch is filled with red gold. Her eyes
go wide and she glances around furtively before tucking the pouch
away. The Nadrak grins. She knows the Drasnian is hooked now.
Glancing at the sky, the Nadrak notes that the afternoon is waning,
soon to become evening. She mounts her horse, the Drasnian following
suit. The two confer briefly, then ride toward the nearest town
to purchase a room for the evening.

"If you're unsure ... this might help."
"I ..."
"This, then."
...
"Is this what I ... ok. I'm in."
"It's getting late. Perhaps a hot meal would be suitable now."
"There is a town to the east of here. It's probably not what
you're used to ..."
"I'm sure it will suffice. Shall we?"
