RP channel logs: Maeyja, Raife (section 1)

The following log fits in between 'In Limbo' and 'A Kitten'.
[RP]: Maeyja hoists herself up onto a chair and begins hammering the last tapestry on the stone wall.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Maeyja? What's going on in here? One of my soldiers ran down saying he heard a lot of noise'
[RP]: Maeyja nearly tumbles off her chair, startled by Raife's voice from down the hall.
[RP]: Lord Raife enters the room, concern marking his face.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Did someone say I was in trouble?'
[RP]: Lord Raife peers around the room, his face starting to flush with anger.
[RP]: Lord Raife yells 'What did you do to my room?'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'What do you mean?'
[RP]: Lord Raife points furiously at the intricately woven tapestries placed along the walls.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Oh that, I went down to the market to pick up a few things. I was awfully bored and thought a breath of fresh air would be good for me.'
[RP]: Lord Raife grits his teeth, his eyes blazing with fury.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'You WHAT?'
[RP]: Maeyja replies cooly, 'I just took a short trip to the market to get some things.'
[RP]: Maeyja slips her hand behind her back, encircling her palm around the hilt of her dagger as she watches Raife clench is fingers into tight fists.
[RP]: Lord Raife yells 'You deliberately disobeyed what I asked of you. I merely asked for you to stay in this base. If you needed something you should have said something.'
[RP]: Lord Raife yells 'But no, you left with my gold and without my permission and you've completely demasculated my room. Not to mention you've made a fool of me by defying my requests. '
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I'll have you know I made excellent bargains with your gold and you haven't even taken a long enough look at OUR room to decide if I've feminized it.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Oh it's OUR room now? Who let you out anyway? I'm going to go wring his neck.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'That's of no matter. He had a dagger in his stomach so he let me go.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Nonsense woman. You may be sly time to time with your dagger, but my men are well trained. The most you could hope for is a mere scratch.'
[RP]: Maeyja glares angrily at Raife.
[RP]: Maeyja says icily, 'He thought he was obeying orders. You have no right to kill him. It would be a waste of a good solider.'
[RP]: Lord Raife roars 'I have no right? I HAVE NO RIGHT? I have every right I want to have! I have an entire army at my command!'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Fine then, take those hands aching to kill out on me. I was the one who left. I was the one who deliberately disobeyed you. I knew you would be angry.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'What? That doesn't even make sense! Are you suicidal? You must be crazy. You've even broken your own customs by disobeying me.'
[RP]: Maeyja mutters 'I was hoping you weren't aware of Nadrak customs.'
[RP]: Maeyja glares fiercly, biting her lip as her mind races to subdue the situation. She waits a moment before reacting.
[RP]: Maeyja 'Raife,' she cooes, 'I have complete faith in your judgment. Such a strong, rational leader as yourself surely wouldn't kill someone over a petty thing like this?'
[RP]: Lord Raife looks at Maeyja, a puzzled expression appearing on his face.
[RP]: Maeyja steps closer to Raife, brushing purposefully up against his side.
[RP]: Maeyja murmurs 'Just give yourself a moment Raife, I'm sure your final decision will come to you quite clearly.'
[RP]: Lord Raife gazes around the room thoughtfully, conflicting emotions appearing on his face.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Ah yes, nothing like the sight of war to set someone thinking.'
[RP]: Lord Raife nods, looking up at the tapestries that were carefully woven to depict the glory of the army of Kal Torak.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'War is such a fine art. There is nothing better than immersing yourself in it.'
[RP]: Maeyja pauses, letting her suggestions sink in.
[RP]: Lord Raife after a moment nods again.
[RP]: Lord Raife sighs heavily and looks down at Maeyja's glittering eyes. 'Well Maeyja, you have me convinced."
[RP]: Maeyja grins evilly.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'But don't think you can worm yourself out of this entirely. I will not be humiliated. You will be confined to this room until I decide otherwise. And no books.'
[RP]: Maeyja gapes in horror.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Well my pretty little Nadrak, you successfully wormed back into my reason. Your punishment should be much more grave than this.'
[RP]: Maeyja frowns, her heart sinking into her stomach as her one entertainment was robbed from her.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'You did this to yourself you know. I must be spoiling you. No sensible woman would have done what you have without being given reason to think so.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'But Raife I...?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'cut in firmly, o Maeyja. You've humiliated me. I will not tolerate it. You're lucky I chose not to punish you like I would a solider. Now I have work to do.'
[RP]: Lord Raife turns his back on the pouting and leaves, speaking quietly for a moment to a nearby soldier.
[RP]: Maeyja sighs, collapsing hopelessly on the rug before the fire, listening to the loud slam of the door shutting and the scuffling of the men posted outside.

The following log fits in between 'From bad to worse' and 'Forbidden'.
[RP]: Lord Raife bursts through the door with a look of fury in his eyes.
[RP]: Lord Raife rages 'What was Cyras doing in here?'
[RP]: Maeyja jumps up, obviously startled by Raife's sudden entrance.
[RP]: Maeyja stutters 'R...R..Raife, I didn't ex...expect you to get finished so soon.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Explain the meaning of this!'
[RP]: (Maeyja): Maeyja's eyes shift from side to side as she quickly tries to think of a logical response.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I... I don't know why Cyras was here. He barged in looking for you and when I informed him you were not here he got upset and left.'
[RP]: Lord Raife looks unconvinced by Maeyja's story.
[RP]: Lord Raife fumes 'I talked with Cyras in the hall and I gather you are not telling my everything. What are you trying to hide '
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Nothing Raife, why would I hide anything from you, my owner?'
[RP]: Maeyja attempts to give him a sly look but fails.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I fail to believe you. You are hiding something and I am losing patience.'
[RP]: Lord Raife directs a levelling gaze at Maeyja.
[RP]: Maeyja squirms under Raife's glare.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'He was in here checking up on you. He asked how negotiations went in Yar Nadrak.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'He asked me the questions because you were not here. How dare you accuse me!'
[RP]: Maeyja hopes her bluff and feigned anger are enough to blind Raife of her and Cyras' true intentions.
[RP]: Lord Raife thinks over Maeyja's statement in a cool calculated matter. He burrows his brow in concentration as he attempts to match her statement with Cyras'.
[RP]: Lord Raife admits 'Well you have to be telling me at least half of the truth, or you wouldn't be able to keep that expression would you. I don't know what I'm going to do with you.'
[RP]: (Maeyja): Sensing her opportunity, Maeyja strikes in with her argument.
[RP]: Maeyja pipes in, 'You are stuck with me Lord Raife. I am a gift from your true master and a weapon in your negotiations with the Nadraks.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'If you kill me you will lose any chance you have with the Nadraks. You cannot sell me because I will not allow it. I am your ball and chain.'
[RP]: Lord Raife flinches as Maeyja's words ring true. He is stuck with the Nadrak, and worse yet, he enjoys her company. Now he has a moral dilema. For the first time he was seeing Maeyja's true colors. How is he going to deal with this problem.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Your points have merit Maeyja. You have tied yourself to me completely. I am going to take a long walk now, I would appreciate it if you did not leave this room. '
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'In fact, the little power I have as your owner allows me to order you not to leave this room.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Once I have decided how we are going to proceed we will talk again.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Silently walks out of the room, closing the door gently behind him.
[RP]: Maeyja lets out the breath she had been holding throughout his speech. She survived this catastrophe but what about the future?

The following log fits in between 'Steps' and 'Alternative motive'
[RP]: (Maeyja): The heavy wooden door at the far end of the chambers creaks open.
[RP]: Maeyja nearly jumps as she hears the door open. Her heart sinks into her stomach and jitters of anxiety shoot through her.
[RP]: Maeyja draws on a calm mask, forcing herself to relax.
[RP]: Lord Raife strides in the room and looks around for Maeyja. He notices her sitting on a chair near the fire.
[RP]: Lord Raife slowly approaches her and sits down in a chair across from her.
[RP]: (Lord Raife): 'We need to talk,' he states flatly, crossing his arms across his chest and looking at her sternly.
[RP]: Maeyja nods, locking onto his eyes with a cool gaze.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Something is going on that isn't quite right. I can't put my finger on it. Now, I'm giving you two options.'
[RP]: Lord Raife pauses, studying Maeyja's reaction.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'And? '
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'You can either tell me the truth now and we will deal with the situation from there.'
[RP]: Maeyja interjects 'What makes you think I wasn't telling you the truth?'
[RP]: Lord Raife smirks. 'A number of things. I take that as you aren't going to admit to anything different?'`
[RP]: Maeyja shakes her head.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'All right then. You will have your second option. I will be keeping you in a seperate room.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'There will be guards posted outside in case you need anything. We will move all your belongings.'
[RP]: Maeyja looks at him thoughtfully.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'And what good is that going to do you?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I don't know what you're up to...or if you're up to something. If you are, I'd rather sleep safely.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'In any case, I will still be visiting you. I will release you from your imprisonment once you tell me the truth.'
[RP]: Lord Raife pauses. 'Or at least until I can learn the truth on my own.
[RP]: Maeyja feels her heart sink to her stomach, but conceals her emotions.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Well then, so be it. Where will I be staying?'
[RP]: Lord Raife scratches absently at his coarse black hair as he thinks.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I will take you to the south wing. There are some decent chambers there.'
[RP]: Maeyja nods and stands up from her chair. She begins rummaging through the room, pulling out various items and putting them in bags.
[RP]: Lord Raife raises an eyebrow at her curiously. 'You wish to leave now?'
[RP]: Maeyja shrugs. 'Might as well. It will be evening soon and I'd rather be settled in before I grow tired.'
[RP]: Lord Raife nods, watching her gather up the last of her things and scoop up her kitten.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I don't imagine you'll want her around.'
[RP]: Lord Raife smirks. 'Not particularly.' He stands up and helps her with one of the bags.
[RP]: (Maeyja): They leave the room and pass through a series of hallways until reaching a poorly lighted corridor.
[RP]: Maeyja mutters sarcastically, 'Looks bright and cheery.'
[RP]: Lord Raife ignores her comment and opens a door on their left.
[RP]: (Maeyja): The room has a musty smell to it and dust lightly coats the objects in the room. A table is in the far corner next to the fireplace centered on the far wall.
[RP]: (Maeyja): A bed is placed on the opposing side of the fireplace, covered with wool sheets that look old and worn.
[RP]: Maeyja eyes the room with distate.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Well, it will need some cleaning. Perhaps you can send one of your guards to fetch me some new bedding. Or if you are really bored, I suppose you could do it.'
[RP]: Lord Raife shrugs. 'I will send one of them. I have a few things I have yet to attend to today.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I will be back later this evening to join you for dinner. You should have plenty of time to settle in.'
[RP]: Maeyja sets down the kitten on the floor. It looks around the room cautiously and sneezes.
[RP]: Maeyja unconsciously smiles at the little furball.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Well then, I suppose I will be seeing you then.'
[RP]: Lord Raife nods, glancing around the room one more time before turning to leave. He shuts the door quietly behind him and signals for two men to stand outside her door.

The following log fits in after RP channel log 11 (before RP channel log 11 is 'Thoughts').
[RP]: (Maeyja): Maeyja sluggishly awakens feeling as though tons of bricks have been laid upon her body.
[RP]: (Maeyja): She slowly looks about her surroundings. She is in a simple bed made of hay that is covered with course wool blankets.
[RP]: (Maeyja): Unable to recognize her surroundings, she is struck with panic.
[RP]: Lord Raife mutters 'It's about time you woke up.'
[RP]: (Maeyja): Maeyja is mildly comforted by hearing Raife's voice. She looks up at him, running her hand through her knotted black hair.
[RP]: Maeyja asks 'Where are we?'
[RP]: (Lord Raife): Raife studies Maeyja, watching the disheveled Nadrak pull herself out of sleep. He pauses before speaking
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'We're in Kahsha.'
[RP]: (Maeyja): Maeyja's eyes widen a little as a slew of memories flood through her mind.
[RP]: Maeyja asks 'How long have I been asleep?'
[RP]: Lord Raife shrugs. 'A week or so maybe.'
[RP]: Maeyja exclaims 'A week?! How is that possible?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'As you will soon remember, Cyras put us to sleep before departing. I awoke during our travels. We arrived two nights ago.'
[RP]: Maeyja grimaces at hearing Cyras' name.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'What has happened since then?'
[RP]: Lord Raife walks over to the side of the bed and sits down beside Maeyja.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'It appears you don't recall what happened.'
[RP]: Maeyja grumbles 'I just woke up. I haven't had time to really straighten my thoughts.'
[RP]: Lord Raife glares at Maeyja, making it apparent that he doesn't approve of her sarcasm.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Cyras returned after his long absence. I sought him out.'
[RP]: Maeyja nods her head and grins.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Ah yes, I remember that. You created a great deal of havoc. It was a bit hard to follow you among the chaos.'
[RP]: Lord Raife grumbles and growls. You wonder what's wrong...
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I told Mernak to put you in safe keeping. Either he failed or your curiosity won.'
[RP]: Maeyja laughs.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I caught him on his way out from talking to you. He knocked me out for a while, but I awoke shortly after.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'So I guess in a sense...he tried.'
[RP]: Lord Raife grimaces.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Well, no matter. He's dead now.'
[RP]: Maeyja gasps in astonishment.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Dead? '
[RP]: Lord Raife nods slowly.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Sacrificed by that damned Grolim Zarnal.'
[RP]: Maeyja mutters sarcastically, ' It's a pity. I was almost warming up to him.'
[RP]: Maeyja asks 'Who is Zarnal?'
[RP]: Lord Raife glares at Maeyja.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Mernak was one of our most skilled assassins and a great loss.'
[RP]: Lord Raife sighs.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Zarnal is another Grolim fanatic. He, along with a large troup, accompanied us here.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'He sacrificed Mernak to Torak. He made sure to tell me all the details as we rode. I will spare you of them.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'He has brought his apprentice Maeskar with him. I'm sure there are more.'
[RP]: Maeyja grimaces painfully at the thought.
[RP]: Maeyja asks 'So what now?'
[RP]: Lord Raife raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Don't you remember?'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I'm not sure I care to remember. Please remind me, but be delicate.'
[RP]: Lord Raife breaths a long sigh and looks blankly off into space.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'It all happened rather fast, but from what I gather, we're here to breed.'
[RP]: Maeyja frowns.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'What does that mean?'
[RP]: Lord Raife rolls his eyes, disgusted.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Isn't it obvious enough?'
[RP]: Maeyja growls.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Have we been demeaned to this lowliness? Why us?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'They think skill is inherant, which is what I'm for.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'You will make the children appear Nadrak. They will probably be bred several more times before the Grolims are satisfied.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'So what do we do? Just sit here and...you know...all day?'
[RP]: Maeyja blushes.
[RP]: Lord Raife shrugs helplessly.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I'm laying low for a while. We're surrounded by Dagashi, so I wouldn't try anything rash.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I'm not sure what else is entangled in this. It is unlikely you will be spared, however.'
[RP]: Maeyja gasps in astonishment.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'All that training was for nothing?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'No, it proved to Cyras that you have some skill that can also be bred down.'
[RP]: Maeyja groans and rolls over in the bed, throwing a pillow over her head.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Raife, get us out of this. The implications of all of this makes my head spin.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'That's flattering that you think I can actually do anything about this.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'Either way, we can never be sure what Cyras' plans are. He seems to be rather fickle.'
[RP]: Maeyja slowly sits up and throws her legs over the bed.
[RP]: Maeyja frowns at her attire.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'Who put me in this?'
[RP]: Maeyja points at the gauzy fabric covering her.
[RP]: Lord Raife raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'I did. I didn't think you would be too happy fully clothed in leather in heat like this.'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'We are sheltered, but in a desert nonetheless.'
[RP]: Maeyja resists the impulse to slap Raife for his indecency.
[RP]: Maeyja asks 'So what now?'
[RP]: Lord Raife says 'We wait...'

[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Maeyja sweeps back her long black hair, fanning her neck with her hand.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): It felt significantly hotter in Kahsha than in Rak Cthol and she was having trouble getting used to it.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): The room she had awakened in was small and drab, looking as though it hadnt been lived in for quite some time.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim purses her lips and looks around the room with distate.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim mutters 'It's rather stuffy in here. I think I'm going to have a look around.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim turns to a small wooden door and grasps the tarnished bronze handle.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'You aren't going to be leaving this hut.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Oh? So it's a hut now? Well, I suppose it's good news to not be confined to such a drab room.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim turns the handle and opens the door and steps into a small, bleak looking room.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim frowns.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): The room is bland with the exception of a few functional pieces of furniture.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): It is quite small and has a low, flat ceiling. The walls appear to be made of rough stone.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): A layer of chalky dust coats everything in the house, giving it a musty smell.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim crosses her arms and smirks.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Well, we have a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom. What else could you need?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim steps out of the bedroom behind Maeyja and looks around the small house, his face expressionless.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'It will do.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim rolls her eyes, disgusted.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'It'll be a bit of work, but, yes, it will do. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim turns to Raife and taps her chin thoughtfully.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Now why is it that I can't leave this house?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim points out a small window at the far side of the room...the only window in the house.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'If you will notice, there are only men walking these streets.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'It is unseemly for a woman to be walking around. We will need to cover the window to conceal you within.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim looks out the window and the back at Raife, annoyance written clearly on her face.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Oh dear, wouldn't it be tragic for a woman to walk around? We're such deadly creatures, what with all of our battle experience.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I'd hate to see what would happen to these specially trained Dagashi if women were let loose upon the streets!'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim rolls her eyes, disgusted.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim stares blankly at her, not quite catching her sarcasm.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sighs.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'It was a joke Raife.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim continues to stare blankly at her.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'All right, nevermind then.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim walks to the center of the living area and brushes off a wooden chair. She seats herself and motions for Raife to join her.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): As Raife walks over and seats himself, Maeyja spots her belt of daggers lying on a nearby table.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim glares at Lord Raife Mortim.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Next time you decide to change my clothes when I'm sleeping, please make sure I'm wearing these.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I can't stab you for indecency if my daggers are all the way out here.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shrugs helplessly.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I must have forgotten.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim ties the belt around her waist and settles back in her chair.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim looks around the room, appearing to be lost in thought.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sighs and leans forward in his chair.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'So, I've been thinking about our current situation...'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim asks 'And?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Perhaps it is best that we do as we're instructed.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim frowns.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Over my dead my body.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I was afraid you'd say that.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sighs.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Maeyja, I don't think we have much choice in the matter.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'If we don't make progress, we are useless. If we are useless we are dead.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I'd rather be alive.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim smirks.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I'd rather die than suffer that kind of indignity.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim glares at Maeyja Mortim.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim clenches his teeth and strains to keep his voice even.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'This isn't about YOUR dignity. I've lost mine already.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I was...or perhaps still am the overseer of the entire Angarak army.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Now I'm banished to Kahsha purely to reproduce. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim turns her head away defiantely, shutting her mind off to Raife's babbling.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim grabs Maeyja by the wrist to redirect her attention.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim growls 'Stop being stubborn.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'What have you lost Maeyja? You have neither gained nor lost anything.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'In truth, your life would have come to a point very similar to this.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'You would become the property of some man and eventually love him, marry him, and bear his children.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim glares at Lord Raife Mortim.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I see absolutely nothing similar in those two situations.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says with an icy tone, 'Oh it isn't?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sighs.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I really don't know what you're talking about.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim smirks.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Let me explain it to you then.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'You are my property.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim nods slowly.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'So? '
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'And you love me.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim chokes.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim blushes.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim loosens his grip on Maeyja's wrist. 'Is this true?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim nods.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Then the only difference is that you are not my wife and you have yet to bear my children.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim swallows, her mouth feeling suddenly dry.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim thinks 'I'm not prepared for this conversation!'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim silently wishes she would be enveloped into a void.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'So, this situation isn't that bad for you, is it?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sheepishly answers, 'I guess it isn't.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim bites her lip.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'So it is true, I have lost nothing.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Perhaps I have lost sight of the things I've wanted.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I thought training with Mernak would make you respect me.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'If you respected me, I would gain power in rank.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'But, in all reality, I suppose that isn't what I've wanted.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shrugs helplessly.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I do not disrespect you.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I have never thought highly of women and for the most part, I still don't.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim pauses and thinks over his words carefully.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'But, you are intelligent and skilled. You would make a fine wife.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim feels completely taken aback by Raife's flattering honesty.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Thank you.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim thinks 'What do I do now? You don't just lay all of this out on the table like that!'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim thinks 'If only I could stop time, crawl in his brain, and figure out what he's thinking.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim thinks 'Oh who cares? You love him. You've already come this far. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sighs.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Hold out your hands.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim frowns and holds out his hands, palms facing upward.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim carefully unsheaths all four of her daggers.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim watches her skeptically.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim turns the simple steel blades so the hilt of each dagger rests in the palms of his hands.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim closes his hands around her daggers and sits back in her chair.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim looks at the daggers, a little confused at the gesture.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim struggles to remember something about Nadrak customs.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim thinks 'When a Nadrak woman gives her daggers to her owner...'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): Raife's eyes suddenly widen.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim thinks 'She's offering to marry me.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim beams a smile at Maeyja Mortim.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sheaths the daggers around his belt and takes Maeyja's hands.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I promise we will do this properly. I can't guarantee when, but we will.'

'Good morning!' in the storyboards fits in between these two logs.

[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Maeyja turns over in her bed, her arm landing on a lumpy pillow rather than a warm body.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Her eyes snap open and she peers around the room, noticing that Raife is gone.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim pushes herself out of bed and pulls a simple, woolen gown over her body.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim carefully opens the door of her room and peers out into the small living area. It is empty.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim murmurs 'How strange. I wonder where Raife went.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim shivers despite the heat, looking around the room uneasily.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim wanders the streets of Kahsha, his body hunched and his eyes searching through the streets warily.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): Dagashi men of all breeds walk the streets, their faces blank and expressionless.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim watches them from the corner of his eyes, appearing as though he is lost in his own thoughts.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sighs and looks up at the palace of Jharab.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim thinks 'This city is desolate. How long will I be stationed here? And what of Maeyja?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim hadn't thought much about his current situation, except of some intimate developments with Maeyja
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): Raife continues walking through the streets until he reaches the small hut that would be his home.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim pushes the door open and is immediately alerted when he hears Maeyja shriek.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim exclaims 'You scared the living hell out of me!'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim frowns.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I'm sorry?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shrugs helplessly.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim peers intently at Lord Raife Mortim.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim asks 'What were you doing?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim walks over to Raife and takes off his cloak for him.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I was just having a look around.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim hangs up Raife's cloak and pulls him over to a couple of chairs.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim asks 'Oh? How was that?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sighs and seats himself.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Nothing really...I could have sworn I saw a Nyissan floating around here.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim shrugs helplessly.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I'm sure there are Dagashi bred from Nyissan women. Perhaps you saw one of them.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shakes his head.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Not likely. Anyway, I'm sure Zarnal will be checking in soon.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'When will you know if...you know..'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim falls down laughing.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'That sort of thing takes a while. Are you hungry?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Famished actually. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim smiles happily.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I'll go see if we have anything in our kitchen.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim stands up and pads off to the kitchen.

[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Two and a half months passed since Maeyja and Raife's arrival to Kahsha with almost no interruption from the surrounding Dagashi.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Raife and Maeyja were growing restless, especially Maeyja, who battled with herself almost constantly over a recent dilemma.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): On this particular evening, Maeyja rested by the fire, struggling to push down the nausea that so frequently overwhelmed her.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): To her relief, Raife merely assumed Maeyja had taken on a recent "illness" without a second thought.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): As Raife was milling in the bedroom, cleaning the rust from his blades, there came a knock on the door.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim casts a worried glance over at Raife who had diverted his attention away from his blades. He looked at her questioningly.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim asks quietly, 'Were you expecting someone?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shakes his head, lowering the blade to the ground.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'No, I haven't spoken to anyone since we got here. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'But you frequently leave the house? What are you doing?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Having a look around. Are you planning to get that? '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sighs and slowly stands, waiting for another bout of nausea to pass before answering the door.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises her eyebrows. 'Oh, hello.'
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): A woman swathed in concealing silks is standing before the door. All of her is covered except for her eyes, which are exceptionally dark.
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): The woman glances around nervously and steps into the hut, closing the door behind her.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'I've been sent to check your progress,' the woman says quietly in a thick accent.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim quickly glances at Raife who shrugs at her unknowingly.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Please ask your partner to remove himself from the bedroom where we can discuss in private.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'You heard the woman, out you go.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman politely bows her head, averting her eyes from Raife's direction.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim looks at the woman curiously and then up at Raife who also averted his eyes.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim mutters 'Well...that's...odd.'
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): The woman and Maeyja enter the bed chambers. Maeyja closes the door and seats herself on the bed while the woman pulls out a few vials from a pouch concealed in her clothes.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): I'm amazed your skin isn't bruised,' the woman mutters, setting aside the vials and looking at Maeyja distastefully.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim thinks 'What a very strange woman...'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'And why do you say that?'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman rolls her eyes. 'A proper woman wouldn't reveal as much skin as you. Any normal Murgo man would see to it that you didn't show such indecency.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim laughs dryly.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'I'd like to see him try.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Foul woman. Shame on you. Serves you right to be in a place like this.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim glares at the woman icily.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Your customs don't apply to me woman. And before you start telling me what I deserve, perhaps you should rethink your own situation.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman smirks beneath her veil. 'Now tell me, when was your last cycle?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim lies 'A week ago.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim smirks.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Oh? You look a little unwell and tired. Perchance you have been ill?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim mutters 'I came down with something. I'm recovering just fine.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Well then, you won't mind me giving you this detoxifier that will cleanse out your system. You want a good environment for a healthy baby.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'What do you mean by cleanse out?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim chews the inside of her cheek nervously.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Oh you know, everything that could be in there.' The woman begins mixing some liquid and the vial.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Everything? '
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman nods and hands Maeyja a cup off the mixed liquids.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim brings it to her lips apprehensively.
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): Remember...everything will go.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim sighs and sets down the cup.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Fine, I'm pregnant.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman smiles beneath her veil. 'I thought you would cooperate after that. Now then, when was your last cycle?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim grumbles and growls. You wonder what's wrong...
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'A month and a half ago.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'And how have you been feeling?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Sick, tired, I vomit in the evenings, I crave strange foods, other times I'm not hungry at all, certain smells make me sick...'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman chuckles. Yes, I'd say you are pregnant. That is excellent news. Have you told your partner?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'NO! And I'm not going to.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Well, I won't say a thing. It would be improper of me to speak with your parnter. I want you to keep this vial. Put 5 drops in your drinking water 3 times a day.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim raises an eyebrow.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'What for?'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): 'Vitamins. We must keep the baby healthy. Now then, perhaps while I'm here I could show you how to be a proper, modest woman.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim chuckles ruefully.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'All the clothes in the world won't cover up the indecency that takes place in this bedroom. In the end, the clothes come off.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Besides, who are you to tell me about modesty? You aren't even a full blood Murgo. Your skin lacks the olive pigment...at least what I can see.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim spits in utter disgust!
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Hide your shame behind that veil, but don't impress it upon me. I have nothing to be ashamed of.'
[RP]: (Lord Raife Mortim): The woman blushes furiously and looks at the ground. 'Evil woman,' she mutters and stands up to leave the room.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim saunters behind the woman, crossing her arms across her chest. She turns her gaze to Raife whose expression held a certain kind of longing as he watched the Murgo woman leave.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim glares at Raife.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Why did you look at her like that?'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim snaps his attention away from the door and looks at Maeyja curiously.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'What do you mean?'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'That look you gave her.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shakes his head.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I'd forgotten the beauties of a Murgo woman.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim scowls.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'You call that beauty? You can't even see her!'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'She is a proper woman. '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim throws her hands in the air.
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'How many times do I have to hear that word today? You seem to like me just fine without any clothes on in your bed and now you want to talk to me about what's proper.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim frowns at Maeyja.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'I don't understand why you are upset.'
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Of course not! Now then, maybe I'll go do something proper and lock myself in the bedroom. I wouldn't want to defoul your eyes with all this skin!'
[RP]: (Maeyja Mortim): Somewhere in the back of her mind, Maeyja knew she was being slightly irrational about this.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim sighs heavily.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'Maeyja... '
[RP]: Maeyja Mortim says 'Don't you "Maeyja" me! I'm going to take a nap, so don't bother me.'
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim shakes his head, leaning back in his chair.
[RP]: Lord Raife Mortim says 'That has got to be the most complicated woman I have ever known.'
