RP channel logs: Maeyja,
Salmissra
The following log fits in between 'Nightmare' and 'A Calm Mind'.
[RP]: Maeyja abruptly awakens, her throat hoarse and dry. Sweat beads on her skin. She gasps for breath, staring into nothingness with an expression of horror.
[RP]: Maeyja notices her body has gone numb. She struggles to focus and gain composure.
[RP]: (Maeyja): The door swings open, a young Murgo charges in, an apprehensive look on his face.
[RP]: (Maeyja): His eyes race around the room, looking for a challenge. He sees it empty and scowls hard at Maeyja.
[RP]: (Maeyja): After a moment he leaves silently, a look of disapproval on his face.
[RP]: Maeyja glares at the door with disgust.
[RP]: Maeyja mutters 'He should have at least checked to see if I had a pulse.'
[RP]: Maeyja pulls herself up into a sitting position, rubbing her throat.
[RP]: Maeyja shakes her head, her thoughts fading back to the dream.
[RP]: Maeyja mutters 'What did the dream mean?'
[RP]: Maeyja stares blankly into the empty fireplace, slowly recounting the events from earlier.
[RP]: Maeyja sighs. 'Well Cyras, what do you want me to do now?'
[RP]: Maeyja stomach churns as she thinks of what will happen upon Raife's return.
[RP]: Maeyja grumbles to herself, 'Imprisoned again with only the comfort of a few gold pieces. I wonder what kind of cruelty Raife will bestow upon me once he returns.'
[RP]: (Maeyja): The air in the room chills, sending shivers down Maeyja's spine. She wraps herself in a coarse blanket, her mind becoming a void of fear as she waits for the return of her master.
[RP]: Maeyja stands up, searching for wood to stir the fire. After a few moments, she frowns.
[RP]: Maeyja calls 'Guard! Come in here!'
[RP]: (Salmissra): The Murgo guard eases the door open and gives Maeyja a suspicious look.
[RP]: Maeyja glares at him icily. 'As you know, Raife has forbidden me from leaving this room.'
[RP]: (Salmissra): He says nothing, eyes darting once around the room before settling on her again.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I need more firewood. It's chilly in here and I have ran out.'
[RP]: Maeyja shivers.
[RP]: (Salmissra): He scowls, grunts, and shuts the door behind him.
[RP]: Maeyja stares fiercely at the door. She mutters to herself, 'Not a very chatty one is he?'
[RP]: (Salmissra): A moment later, there is a firm rapping on the door.
[RP]: Maeyja calls 'Come in!'
[RP]: (Salmissra): The door is carefully nudged open, and the same guard inches in, peering around the pile of wood stacked high in his arms.
[RP]: (Salmissra): He looks around, and scowls. 'Where?'
[RP]: Maeyja rolls her eyes and points next to the fireplace.
[RP]: Maeyja demands 'And stir up a fire while you're at it.'
[RP]: (Salmissra): His scowl deepens, and he casts a look over his shoulders at the open door. Eventually, he reaches a decision and puts the stack of wood by the fireplace, positioning himself so he could keep an eye on her.
[RP]: Maeyja smirks and crosses her arms. 'Are you always so unconcerned when a woman screams?
[RP]: (Salmissra): He looks up in the process of adding wood to the fire, and shrugs. 'You were breathing.'
[RP]: Maeyja says 'I'm amazed that you noticed. You must have amazing eyes to have noticed in such a short amount of time.'
[RP]: (Salmissra): He casts her a suspicious look again, shifting his position, and winces as the hilt of his sword juts into his ribs. 'Thanks,' he says reluctantly, and prods the fire with the poker.
[RP]: Maeyja rolls her eyes again. She thinks to herself, 'This dumb brute can't even take a hint of sarcasm. I suppose all Murgos are that way.'
[RP]: (Salmissra): When satisfied that the fire will keep burning, he dusts his hands off and stands. He throws Maeyja another uncertain look. 'Is there anything else you need?' He pauses, then adds, 'Lady Maeyja.'
[RP]: Maeyja smiles inwardly at being called a Lady.
[RP]: Maeyja says 'No, that will be all. Thank you'
[RP]: (Salmissra): He grunts again, and marches out of the room again. The door is shut again.
[RP]: (Maeyja): Maeyja turns to the fire, holding her hands out to the warm flames. Her mind drifts as the word 'Lady' rings pleasantly in her ears. top
