RP channel logs: Solo:
Siaden
[RP]:
(Siaden): It is late in the afternoon; a cool wind blows through
the city of Camaar. The streets are starting to thin as merchants
begin closing shops and most of the citizen's head home.
Siaden however is walking towards the northern gate.
[RP]:
Siaden pauses just inside the gate in indecision.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Horses are too big, and I much
prefer the sound of my own footfall, but they are faster...'
[RP]:
Siaden sits down and thinks deeply.
[RP]:
Siaden shakes her head.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'If I'm gone from the clan a
long time, then I'm gone from the clan for a long time....Something
tells me I have to do this trip myself.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): As Siaden passes resolutely through the gate, one of the
guards smiles at her and winks.
[RP]:
(Siaden): "A little late to be going
out isn't it, Ma'am?" He calls out to her.
[RP]:
(Siaden): She smiles and waves to him; they had become acquainted
due to her busy schedule when she was an apprentice.
[RP]:
Siaden steps through the gate onto the road, and a feeling of freshness
rushing into her.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'I'll walk late into the night
tonight; get a good start towards my destination and a good distance
away from all this.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): She didn't want to admit it to herself, but she was also
afraid of going to sleep. She wanted to move enough to completely
exhaust herself, so that her body wouldn't have the energy to dream.
[RP]:
Siaden sighs.
[RP]:
Siaden looks up and sees that the sky is darkening fast, noting
it wouldn't be an especially bright night tonight because of a heavily
clouded sky.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Might be a storm coming in
from the east, those clouds are moving awful fast....I'll have to
be sure to use the tent tonight.'
[RP]:
Siaden grumbles and growls. You wonder what's wrong...
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Probably won't be able to have
a warm breakfast in the morning...'
[RP]:
Siaden shrugs and livens her step.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Night's still young, no use
worrying about tomorrow.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden walks evenly for an hour, heading north still.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'What the...?!?'
[RP]:
Siaden pauses as she begins to hear something. She focuses intently
on picking out the sounds.
[RP]:
Siaden gasps in astonishment.
[RP]:
Siaden realizes she's hearing the sounds and screams of a fray.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden immediately starts running intently, though softly,
in the direction of the sounds.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'I hope I can get there in time...'
[RP]:
Siaden frowns resolutely and tries to run faster.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden slows down as she approaches the site of the conflict.
Before her, in a small clearing on the edge of a sparse forest she
discovers a small group of Sendarians, apparently at camp, attempting
to defend themselves against a group of thieves.
[RP]:
Siaden hesitates for only a moment.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden throws a small dagger at one burly man furiously
attack one of the smaller Sendarians, as he drops dead the battle
lulls an instantaneous moment as everyone notices her.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Then the thieves attack their prey with greater ferocity
while a few step out and begin circling Siaden.
[RP]:
Siaden assumes a relaxed stance and grins at them, only waiting.
[RP]:
(Siaden): They look slightly apprehensive, but then suddenly one
to the left charges her.
[RP]:
(Siaden): "DiiiEEE!" he screams.
[RP]:
Siaden neatly side steps the thrust coming from her left and brings
her right elbow down fast on the attackers skull.
[RP]:
(Siaden): As he collapses the other trips her from behind.
[RP]:
Siaden inhales deeply in pain.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden rolls quickly as she hits the ground, barely dodging
a short sword which plunges into the dirt.
[RP]:
Siaden swings her body around, tripping the man and bringing herself
to her feet, then kicks him squarely in the side of the head.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The remaining four thieves look at their three fallen
comrades, then to the seven haggard but ALIVE would-be-victims,
then turn and flee.
[RP]:
Siaden grins at the apprehensive group and for the first time looks
at them closely.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The Sendarians are a rustic looking group, probably farmers;
there is one young man and three middle-aged, all of them bearded.
They were simple, and dirty, leather working clothes.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Inside the defensive circle are two extremely frightened
women, huddling with one young boy, appearing to be around the age
of eleven.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The group draws back almost collectively as Siaden approaches,
she grins and stoops to retrieve her dagger. Kneeling, she cleans
it in the earth and sheaths it.
[RP]:
Siaden stands, looks at the Sendarians for a moment, then turns
and begins to walk away.
[RP]:
(Siaden): "Wait!" One of
the men yells. "Who are you?"
[RP]:
Siaden pauses, smiling.
[RP]:
Siaden waits a moment.
[RP]:
Siaden turns around and draws her dagger.
[RP]:
(Siaden): They gasp, one of the young men steps forward albeit fearfully.
[RP]:
Siaden kneels and etches her name in the dirt, then looks up expectantly
at the young man.
[RP]:
(Siaden): He walks over to her shakily.
[RP]:
(Siaden): (Sendarian Young Man): "Siaden...
mute?"
[RP]:
Siaden nods.
[RP]:
(Siaden): (Sendarian Young Man): "Well
Siaden, we thank you for your help, and we wonder if you would like
to camp with us for the night. It's the least we can do as thanks."
[RP]:
Siaden smiles happily.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Well, they do seem rather out
of place, and I've got time to indulge my curiosity.'
[RP]:
Siaden grins evilly.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Besides, what would Ordici
say?'
[RP]:
Siaden laughs quietly to herself.
[RP]:
Siaden nods to the young man.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The Sendarian smiles happily, and walks back over to the
group. He officiates introductions, then suggests the go about their
duties.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The men begin cleaning from the battle, the two women
and the child start preparing a hot meal for Siaden.
[RP]:
Siaden picks up the legs of one of the attackers and drags his body
away from the main site.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'Just want to make it up to
me do they....No, there's definitely more going on here. They need
me.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): It is early morning, the sun just beginning to rise. Both
Siaden and the forest have been awake for awhile. She is sitting
by a fire she built, heating water for breakfast. The Sendarians
who she camped with are still asleep.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Time Passes}
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Well Good Morning Siaden!
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian beams broadly at nothing in particular. Siaden
nods somewhat curtly to the young Sendarian.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Taivia}: Good morning Miss Siaden...thank
you very much for starting the fire.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Taivia bows her head and moves around the camp to prepare
breakfast. Siaden smiles gently.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The Sendarians rise and each goes about his business breaking
camp and cleaning themselves. When breakfast is ready they all gather
together around the fire to eat.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Well, we'd all like to
tell you again we're mighty thankful for your help last night M'lady.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden nods.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Might I ask where you're
heading?
[RP]:
Siaden shrugs and points north.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The party eats quietly for a few minutes.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: We're just simple Sendarian
farmers Miss. Well, we used to be...
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden continues eating, waiting for him to resume. Taivia
looks down uncomfortably as he begins talking, then stands and moves
off, trying to make herself busy.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian sighs.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: It wasn't all too long
ago when it happened. We loved on the edge of a small 'community,'
a neighborhood of farms. A strange woman was passing through just
half a fortnight ago.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: She stopped at old man
Lassey's farmhouse, who of course took her in. I woke up that night...
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian pauses for a moment, and Taivia calls over the
young boy.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Our fields were burning.
Thank the gods it had only begun to spread to our building when
I awoke. Of the entire community, we're the only ones who made it...
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian bows his head and closes his eyes for a moment.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Outside, in that chaos,
I found a young boy from Lassey's.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The child shifts his weight uncomfortably, but Dolian
either doesn't notice it or doesn't acknowledge it.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: It was from him that I
found what happened. They had fed and sheltered the woman, and on
a whim she had somehow slaughtered them. The boy wasn't coherent
though. We don't know anything else about her, but she killed everyone.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: There was barely anything
left, we had no way to stay there and survive, and we have nowhere
to go.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian's hands clench into fists.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: We've been following her
since. I don't know if we have any chance, but we have nowhere to
go, and we can't just walk away from all that death.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Everyone is silent.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Dolian stands.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Well stranger, I thank
you for your help, and it was a pleasure to meet you. It seems our
camp is ready, and it is time for us to be moving again. I hope
you fare well on your travels.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden remained sitting while the Sendarians left. They
couldn't know it, but she understood their pain. Inside, her own
fire raged. She lost track of time, but when she roused herself
the light was beginning to fade.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden rises and grimly sets off to follow after the Sendarians.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden catches the Sendarians while they are making camp
that evening. They moved fast for farmers. She begins to step out
from her cover, then hesitates.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'They are Sendarians, they might
object to free help....anyway, I don't particularly want the personal
company they'd try to offer.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden draws back into hiding.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Time passes}
[RP]:
(Siaden): That morning Siaden wakes to discover the camp broken
and empty. She is quite surprised, they got up much earlier than
before, and had to have been very quiet and efficient not to wake
her.
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'They must be more determined
than I originally thought.'
[RP]:
(Siaden): The Sendarians however hadn't left much earlier than Siaden
had awoken and she reached them by high noon. She trailed within
sight for the better part of the day as mountains loomed closer
in the distance.
[RP]:
(Siaden): They arrived suddenly upon a camp in the early evening.
There was only a horse and a black robed person sitting by a small
fire. The stranger did not rise.
[RP]:
Siaden gets a bad feeling.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Ho stranger!
[RP]:
(Siaden): The stranger does not respond.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Dolian}: Might you have any food
we could buy? We've been on the road longer than we expected and
have run out.
[RP]:
(Siaden): As Dolian is speaking and approaching the stranger the
other Sendarian men begin to move away trying (badly) to seem as
though they are merely strolling. Siaden shakes her head. The women
and the child remain a small distance away with the horse
[RP]:
Siaden thinks 'This must be the woman.. I
wonder if she recognizes them..'
[RP]:
(Siaden): Speaking, the stranger rises and pulls her hood back.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Mysterious Woman}: You were lucky
to have survived before, and you are fools to come after me. Now
you will join your fellows.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden gasps as the woman's face comes into view; there
are scars on her cheeks. She jumps up quickly and begins dashing
towards them, knowing the Sendarians will be massacred without her
aid.
[RP]:
(Siaden): The men charge her grimly, but she only laughs. They are
each suddenly thrown back mid-stride by an unseen force.
[RP]:
(Siaden): {Grolim}: You WILL suffer the fate
you escaped!
[RP]:
(Siaden): The grolim closes her eyes, drawing her will to a focus.
Before the men could fully recover and rise, she mutters a word.
Suddenly flames run out towards the Sendarians from the ground around
her feet. Siaden pushes herself over the last distance.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Luckily the grolim had not noticed her due to concentrating
her will. This battle was over before it could being, the grolim
found a dagger point extruding from her neck quite suddenly.
[RP]:
(Siaden): Siaden turns and looks about. All around her are screaming
Sendarians, some already dead. She looks hopelessly for one who
could be saved. Suddenly she notices the young boy.
[RP]:
(Siaden): One of the woman had pushed him away just in time, but
the field was beginning to blaze wildly. Siaden makes a mad dash
and grabs him.
