Xaynora
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The brisk winter air hit Xaynora's back like millions of little
pins as she rode on her horse, Roske, to the city of Tol Honeth.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
squints her eyes to see the dim lights of the city.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
whispers 'You'd think there would be more
guards around.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
She rides up to the tall gates, to meet the curious gaze of the
gatekeeper.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The gatekeeper releases a little chuckle as Xaynora dismounts 'My,
you are short. You must be a Dryad.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
lets out a small sigh.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
smiles happily.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'How observant of you.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
She walks briskly past the guard, hoping he will not stop her.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The only sounds she hears are the pounds of Roske's hoofs and her
own footsteps.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
whispers 'Odd...very odd...usually drunk people
are all over the place by now.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
stares at a nearby brothel.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
After going a bit into the city, she goes the door of The Dryad's
Delight.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
looks around, then picks her way into the tiny shop.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria is awakened by a scratching sound downstairs, in the shop.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria slowly descends the stairs, and slowly tilts her head out
into the shop.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
A very small, shadowed figure hurries around the store muttering
curses, obviously looking for something specific.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria stutters 'Wh..wh..who's th..th..the..there?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
As Dedria pulls out her knife and raises her lantern, the shadowed
figure turns around.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
is blinded by the light for a moment, then quietly says 'Dedria?
It's just me, Xaynora. I'm sorry I woke you up, I was trying to
be quiet. I'm in a bit of rush you see...'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria lets out a sigh of relief. 'Why didn't
you just say so dear? What are you looking for?'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'The letter...from Haeron.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
A look of shock crosses Dedria's face. 'Oh
my, you need it already?'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'I'm afraid so...I got the signal.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria sighs. 'Well, I just hope you're careful
on the way there, alright?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dedria ducks behind the counter for a moment, and returns with a
locked chest.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
pulls out a small key from her satchel, and unlocks the tiny chest.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
whispers 'Ah, there it is. Thank you Dedria.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
pulls out a small envelope, with a golden emblem on the front that
bears 'HR'.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
puts the envelope into her satchel. 'I must
be going.' She gives a hopeful glance to Dedria, and quickly
walks out the door to the shop.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Roske neighed, and kicked her hooves while waiting for Xaynora to
return.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Xaynora comes up to the upset horse, and lovingly pets her head.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
cooss 'Now there's good horse..'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
mounts the horse, and charges out of the city.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Xaynora rides past the guard, who stares at her with curiousity
burning in his eyes.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
She rides along the countryside, hoping that no one from the forest
saw her leave earlier.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Roske cantered through the fields outside the city, until the lights
of Tol Honeth were no long visible.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
dismounts the horse, and lets Roske have a rest.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
mutters 'Thank goodness it's a full moon tonight..I
wouldn't be able to see a thing otherwise..I should have brought
a lamp.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
pulls out the envelope and a piece of bread from her rose embroidered
satchel.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
takes in a deep breath as she opens the envelope.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The letter she pulls out is made of paper of the finest quality,
and seems to have some magical aura surrounding it.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'Xaynora, I am writing this letter while you
are still in town with me. You are only reading this because you
saw the signal (Or at least, I hope you are). I am writing this
because..I am about to die. I need you to meet me. Please, hurry
Xaynora. Please. -Haeron. P.S. This will all make sense later.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
stares at the letter, and lets the content sink into her mind. 'He's
going to die? But how...why?'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
looks up at the full moon. 'If I start now,
maybe I'll make it there before dawn.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
remounts Roske, and sets into a canter.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
She lets down her hood to reveal fire red curls that wave down to
her waist.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
whispers 'I just hope I make it in time.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Dawn breaks on the small city of Sendar.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Xaynora slows down from canter to a slow walk, as she wanders down
main street.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'There it is..The Temple of UL.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Xaynora makes her way through the crowd of Sendarian citizens, merchants,
and the occasional pickpocket to the entrance of the temple.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Inside of the temple, a small, gaunt man kneels in front of the
main altar.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'Haeron? Is that you?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The small man turns briskly around, while a warm smile crosses his
face. 'Xaynora! My dear! It's been too long!
I am so glad you're here!'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
looks Haeron up and down. 'You do not look
well, not well at all.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron smiles 'My dear, come with me, we must
discuss matters at hand.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron leads Xaynora to a small corridor inside the temple, and
into a small room.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Everything in the room is covered in velvet, and although the room
is small, the arrangement of the furniture makes the room feel like
it is the size of a grand ballroom.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron says 'Have a seat.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron takes a deep breath, 'My dear, as you
know, I am going to be gone soon.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'You see, there is a hidden text hidden within
Sendar, that is very sacred to the Temple. I have to trust you to
get it for me.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Xaynora ponders this, 'Why couldn't you tell
me that last time I was here?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'Ah you see, I couldn't tell you because the
Temple of Torak could have read your mind, and realize I was about
to die.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'And then, they could have gotten it for themselves,
knowing that I would no longer be able to guard it.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
blinks slowly...
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'Alright...well, what do I do with this
text?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'You must destroy it.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'Destroy it?! I thought you said it was
sacred?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'It is..sacred as in if put in the hands of
evil, it can cause chaos. We have decided that we must destroy it.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'Alright.'
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
says 'However, where is it?'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron starts shaking uncontrollably.
[RP]:
Xaynora Lapine
stutters 'Haeron? What's wrong? Answer me!'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron's eyes start to glaze a bit, as he reaches out to grab Xaynora's
hand.
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron whispers 'Xaynora...I must go...they
know too much..'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
Haeron looks around the room 'Find the baker...my
dear.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
'May Ul bless you.'
[RP]:
(Xaynora Lapine):
The grip on Xaynora's hand loosens, as Haeron leaves reality.
