Xanya and Maochro
Memories. Such unusual things. Some are good, and some are bad. Xanya's past was full of evil. It was when she was one that something evil occurred. A strange sickness was affecting some of the trees. Many trees died the year the sickness fell and thus, many Dryads were killed, for when a tree dies, a Dryad will die with it.
One of these Dryads was Xanya's mother. They both lived near the edge of the forest. Unfortunately, nobody was left to care for her. A couple days after the death of Xanya's mother, two Drasnians were riding horses on the edge of the woods. They appeared to be a couple. The woman noticed movement in the weeds, and she dismounted.
When the woman arrived at the source of movement, she saw that it was an infant Dryad. She looked around for the mother and so nobody. The woman then picked up the little girl and rode off. When the three of them returned to Boktor in Drasnia, the male set up a crib and other furniture for their new adopted child.
Over the years, she noticed a young boy that lived a few houses away. He was always with his twin. She always giggled and wondered what it'd be like if she could play with them. But alas, whenever she was about to go up to them, they would walk off and play someplace else. This made Xanya quite sad.
One day, she looked over towards where the boys would take their morning walk. They weren't there. This was quite strange. She began to look all around for them. She always spied on them and knew when they were about to do something important. Blaze was supposed to have returned last night, but she didn't see his arrival.
After much searching, she saw the boy's mother crying over a body. Xanya gasped and said to herself, "Maochro!" But, it wasn't Maochro, it was his twin, Blaze. She asked the mother where Maochro was.
The mother said, "He has left here. He only stayed long enough to tell me what happened." That minute, she went in search of Maochro. Xanya's search for Maochro took a very long time. She had followed the path to Camaar. She had heard that Maochro had become an Adventurer and she found out the Adventurer Clan Hall was in Camaar. After much searching, she finally found the entrance to the hall.
A young man came up to her and said, "Hello, who might you be? You don't wear the Adventurer Badge."
Xanya said, "My name is Xanya. I have travelled far to find a young man. Might you know who he would be?"
The young man said, "First of all, my name is Ordici. Where does this young man come from?"
She smiled and said, "He's from Boktor in Drasnia. His name is Maochro. I heard he joined this clan."
Ordici nodded and said, "I know him. He's a great friend. He has helped me and a lot of other people out. The other people in the clan think he does quite well. Why have you come to find him?"
Xanya said, "Well, his brother died a while back, and after that he disappeared. I don't think he even realized I existed. I was wondering if I might be able to join the clan."
Ordici said, "Only if you prove yourself."
Xanya sat long and thought hard on how she was to prove herself. All of a sudden, a tiny child began to cry. She jumped up and saw the child. The child said he was lost and couldn't find his way home. Xanya felt sorry for the boy and searched around the town for the boy's home. After about an hour, his mother saw them and said,
"You found my baby! Thank you! I should pay you."
As she reached into her pockets, Xanya shook her head, and said, "No charge, ma'am. It was my pleasure."
She found her way back to where she was sitting, but there was a woman there. She said, "Xanya, I have seen what you did for that young boy. Also, Ordici told me about how you searched long and hard for Maochro. Even though it is quite unusual, even though you're of Dryad descent, would you like to be a member of the Adventurer's Clan?" Xanya could only nod.

Xanya began to read the letter. It was the most beautiful thing she had ever read. She ran up to Maochro, gave him a hug, and whispered in his ear,
"I love you." He smiles and said,
"I love you too." They then shared a long, passionate kiss. It was only broken up when Ordici came into the hallway and whistled. They blushed and walked hand and hand down the hall.

A couple months later, they were going out full time. Whenever Maochro had a mission to go on, she would come with him. Whenever she needed help when she was cleaning up the clan hall, Maochro would always be there to help. One day, they were sitting on the bench in the park in Camaar. Xanya was wearing a beautiful silver dress and Maochro was wearing a cloak with flames on it.
Mao gave Xanya a flower and said,
"Do you love me?" She took the flower and said,
"Yes, of course." She then gave Maochro a mushroom and said, "Do you love me?" Maochro laughed at the mushroom and said,
"Yes I do. Thanks for the mushroom." While Xanya was giggling, Maochro slipped onto the ground. Xanya noticed he was reaching for a penny on the ground.
As Maochro got the penny, he slipped it into a pocket in his cloak and took out a tiny box. He said,
"Xanya, we've been together for quite some time. When we were younger, I noticed you often, but my brother was so active and I had to keep up with him. I wanted to come over and say 'Hi.' But I never had the chance. So now I say, Hi and will you marry me?"
As soon as he said that, he opened the tiny box and inside was a diamond ring. Her eyes sparkled with tears and began to cry. After about 10 seconds, she wiped off her eyes and said,
"Yes, Maochro, I will marry you."
With that, Maochro jumped for joy and Xanya jumped into his arms. They then shared a kiss that lasted until sunset.

The music was incredibly beautiful. Xanya thought to herself, "I never knew that Maochro could play a flute." She went off to find the one person who would know more about this, Ordici. She found him in the practice room hacking a dummy to pieces. She said,
"Ordici, stop that and tell me something. Did you know that Maochro plays the flute?"
Ordici nodded and said, "Yeah. He will rarely bring out one of his instruments to play unless he is suffering from a great sadness. He can play the flute, the lute, the mandolin, and the trumpet. His trumpet scares me. It had flames painted on it." At this point, he rolled his eyes. Xanya wasn't paying attention. She learned that Maochro had musical talent.
Maochro returned later that night with a bag full of coins in one hand, and his flute in the other. He put both of those in his locker and took his usual seat in the Adventurer Lounge. After a short nap, Ordici awaked him. Xanya giggles and Ordici said,
"All right Mao, play your flute for Xanya. She's been begging me to get you to."
Maochro said, "I'll play, but Ordici, I'm going to knock your lights out for getting into my locker later." With that, he snatched the flute away from Ordici and began to play it. Xanya was entranced by the multitude of notes. When she finally came to her senses, Maochro was done playing. In fact, he wasn't even in the room. Ordici told her that Maochro went to bed a couple of minutes ago.

Learning
Well, it seems everyone was getting hitched in the clan. Rei and Wyls were married, Athawe married the funny little Khuldir, it seemed as it was a disease spreading. One day I found myself standing there next to Maochro, WE were getting married. It's still seems as a dream.
Now the last couple of years of my life have been completely different from what I was used to. I became an adventurer. As part of my time in the clan, I have been learning how to fight, to cast spells, and mostly how to be a good spy.
That is how I met Maochro. One day, Reidia was helping me, at it seemed as little Rhyrmon was running her ragged, as he had just been chased out of the kitchen again. He was always getting into trouble. A handsome red haired man walked up to her, he looked travel stained and weary. He also looked familiar. It took me a while to realize it was Maochro, he was so thin and haggard, he looked like he has just been sent on a horrible mission.
"Maochro" I said tentatively. He looked around Rei to see me. I flew into his arms. I thought I’d never see him again. Reidia looked pained as she saw us embrace.
"I'm sorry Xanya I know I was supposed to help you with your swordsmanship today, but Rhyrmon..." She gave me a harried look.
Maochro piped up, " I am going to be taking a break for a couple of months. I can take over for you, Rei. I'd be happy to instruct her." Reidia thanked him heartily and dragged a sullen Rhyrmon to his room. Maochro then became my teacher. He made me train furiously, and at times I hated him. Who would have known the twist of fate that had me marry him?

My New Title
As I strolled through the clan hall I wondered when she'd arrive. My heart was light I got a note today. My best friend was returning. Did Wylset know? Should I tell him? What would I say to her after so long? Reidia was coming home.. Well, back to Camaar where she had lived & loved for so long. I wanted to give her something apon her return but what? I decided Wylset must know so I went searching for him.
I came upon the man I have come to call friend in the lounge. As usual he was helping someone I had never met before. He stood, smiled, hugged me hello and quickly introduced me. He told me the gentleman with him was named Aran. He then turned to him and said "Aran, this is Xanya the lovely tree lady of our clan". The twinkle of laughter in his eyes was almost as amusing to me as my new title. "I think I 'll keep it " I thought to myself....

Road to Reidia
As I walked out of the clan hall a messenger stopped me. Seems Reidia can’t come after all. I was depressed. I missed my friend terribly and decided, "you know its been a while since I went travelling I shall go see her! " Quickly I ran to catch up to the messenger. "Sir" I said, "Please can you send a message back to Reidia?"
"Sure" he said as he smiled foolishly at me.
"Please tell Reidia I will come to her instead but I am going to Tol Honeth first. Do not expect me for a bit." I gave him a bag full of gold and said, "Make sure it gets to her." I figured this will give her some time to get things straight with the Merchants before I arrive.
So, I went to the lockers, and then to the bank for money. "I am still getting her a present! " I snorted indignantly. "Even if she can't take the time to come to me." After getting a small fortune I started on my way. The road through the Vordue Forest was lovely. I kept wondering why life wasn’t always so neat and predictable. I was happy to be away from my life in Caamar.
I love my clan but I feel the need to be near trees and have been very depressed. So, I threw off my shoes and hauled myself up a tree and just sat there crying. I missed my sisters and the Dryad Forest.
I remembered the first time I visited the forest. The trees called to me, they sang like sirens and I wanted to stay. I knew I needed to return to my clan, to Maochro, or I would get restless. Sighing, I jumped out of the tree and put my boots back on. I needed to be alert in case there were thieves about.
As I walked along I started to feel so alone. I almost missed the sound of horse hooves in the distance. "Great!" I thought "almost made it out of the forest without problems." I listened a bit longer ‘til I knew there were 2 of them. I was too tired to try to take on two thieves so I decided to go silently into the trees. After about ten minutes there appeared two men riding the most beautiful black horses I had ever seen. I just stared... They knew I was watching but neither seemed to mind. My heart was racing but they just passed.
When I felt they were a safe distance I hopped back down and decided it was time to settle for the night. Glad I had remembered to bring a blanket I settled in. I slept fitfully as the trees called to me in sorrow. I knew the travellers were burning a fire. Waking once or twice I slept til dawn and started off again. As I left the forest my heart wrenched. I had to fight every urge to just lose myself in the trees. With one last look I started on the Great Western Road. It was peaceful but I couldn’t help looking back to the safety of the trees.
Two days later I saw the gates of the great city of Tol Honeth. The two guards looked me up and down trying to decide if I would be trouble. The elder of the two guards stepped up and said with a smile,
"Welcome to our great city"
"Sometimes I love being Dryad," I though as I passed by them and into the city. I gave a slight wave towards the guard's barracks and went in search of the perfect gift for Reidia.
Through town square and down to Vordue Ave I went. I had my mind made up what to get. I strolled towards Nedra Lane. Stopping a few times to admire the flowers on the way. Finally reaching my destination I smiled up at Jianra who was helping an elderly gentleman to pick out a fragrance for his lovely wife. It always amazes me how patient she is. I met the lady I call friend on the many previous occasions I had to visit. "Floyd seems to send me here a lot," I mused as I silently waited for my turn.

The Letter
The room was plain but I expected no more than for it to be. Xabieth offered to help decorate it if I needed help. I thanked her and she left whistling a tune and giggling. All of a sudden she comes running back into the room and hugged me.
"It will be great having you here. Don't worry.. If you need anything come find me I'm just down the hall."
"Actually" I started "Could you please tell me where I can find some parchment and something to write with?"
"Sure," was all I heard as she walked down the hall to her room. She returned a few minutes later with a fuzzy kitten in tow. I had never had a pet before and had no clue what to do with it as it nuzzled my feet.
"OUCH!" I yelled "That THING bit me!" She slapped the parchment onto the little side table and left. The kitten didn't follow so I gave in and threw my only pillow on to the floor for it.
I didn't remember falling asleep but I woke early the next morning. The cook was preparing breakfast and fed me without question. There was another woman at the table when I sat. She introduced herself only as Fieron then stood to leave. She was tall! Taller than most other females I had met. But it was her shining hair I fixed my gaze on. Her eyes were a shade of blue I had only seen in the ocean waters. Noticing her wedding ring I thought, "Someone was smart marrying her!" She hadn't said more than what her name was and I didn't think it smart to be too pushy. I finished my meal and left just as she had five minutes before heading back to my room. Once inside I sat to write the letter I had been avoiding all morning.
"My dearest Maochro" it started. "I didn't make it to Reidia. Hafwen found me lying in the Vordue Forest. I found out the trees in the Dryad Forest are ill as am I. She has taken me to Sendar where Floyd lives. I am certain you know where I mean. I am in a place where I can live and be well. The Wanderers clan has saved some seedlings from the forest in hopes of saving some of us. I cannot return to you my love so I am returning this ring. I ask you to find another worthy of it. One who can love you while I cannot. Please do not try to come here I have asked them not to let you in. I am saddened that life has set me on a path where we cannot be together. You have always been good to me and I will miss you." I signed it simply "You will never be forgotten..." Xanya. A tear rolled down my cheek as I put the ring in a pouch and went looking for someone to take it to Camaar.
I found a carrier in the very same pub Ihad been in the night before. I paid him and spent the rest of the night drinking ale and feeling sorry for myself.

Intro to Haven
After the old man left I walked up to the counter. "You don't look so good Xan" Jianra said.
"I really haven't been well my friend," I replied. I have come for a gift for Reidia. Please give me some Essence of Polgara as this is her favorite." So, after paying for the perfume I waved good bye and started for Boktor. Walking slowly I started feeling ill. I just don't know why I can't breathe. Nothing looks right to me. I walked through the gates of Tol Honeth and started for the Vordue Forest where things for some reason just felt better.
It seemed like it took forever to get there. I can't begin to describe the feeling I get being near the trees. Since I didn't grow up in the Dryad Forest my life has always been missing something. I guess I never really paid attention having Maochro around to keep me grounded. Being on this trip without him seems to make a huge difference. I can't remember ever being sick as a child. All of a sudden things started looking fuzzy, I felt really warm,, and then everything went black..
I awoke to a familiar face staring down at me. "Xan.. Xan! Are you ok?" Hafwen almost looked panicked.
"Wow! You look great and well.. Happy! What happened?"
She blushed." I fell in love. He is the most wonderful man I have ever met. Now get up you bum!" She teased. "How long have you been sick? I have heard the trees in the Dryad Forest are not well and that many of you are ill." I sighed. Well at least I know why I feel this way.
"My clan has come in possession of a few seedlings from the forest in hopes of saving them. Come with me to The Haven where you can be well. I will write Maochro a note explaining why you cannot return."
"Thanks" I said smiling gratefully. "But I think I should do that. Also I need to thank the Adventurers and explain why I am not returning." And with that we started off very slowly towards my new home...
It was a long ride to my new home. Hafwen preceded to tell me all about this new man of hers. You could tell for the first time in a long time she was truly happy. As I listened I thought about my life and how it was about to change. Soon I would arrive at a place I had never lived, had few friends, and I would be writing a letter to Maochro. It was a scary thought.. Being on my own. As long as I can remember he had been there somewhere in the shadows of my mind. This was the way it had to be. There was no other options and no sense crying over it. I asked Hafwen if she would be so kind as to hurry as I just needed to get on with my life. She said "Xanya.. You are a dryad.. Get over it! Men aren't worth much anyways..." (HA! There was the Hafwen I knew and loved) I think she forgets I was raised with a family sometimes. I sighed deciding "you know what? She's right. I wasn't meant to be this way I was taught to be this way. Once with my sisters I will be who I am on the inside" and as the moon shone brightly I fell asleep.
When I woke the next day Hafwen was making breakfast. We ate and she asked "Well, are you ready to see your new home? We should be there by sundown." My spirits lifted a little. I asked her if we could stop at a pub before going to the clan hall. I knew it would take a lot for me to write that letter so I wanted a drink first. Silently we arrived in Sendar just as the sun went down. I had been there many times to see Floyd and even I had to admit the city was nice. As promised we stopped at a pub literally across the street before going to meet with Shinara.
I had never met her before. I only knew what Reidia had told me and she said Shinara was a wonderful person. I have been nervous about meeting her all day. What if I wasn't good enough? What if she didn't like me? Would I still be welcome or would I be turned away? Hafwen said she needed to let Shinara know she was back as she was expected back a few days earlier and needed to explain how she found me. As she walked out the door I watched after her smiling. The waitress smiled and gave me a mug of ale. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a man walk in grumbling something I couldn't quite hear. I shrugged and finished my ale before walking towards the door to my new home.

Meeting Shinara
I staggered, literally, towards the door where that same man stood, ale in hand, grinning.
"What an idiot," I thought but he was nice enough to hold the door so I flashed him a smile as I went through. The garden was lovely and I noted how particular Shinara was with it. She was waiting in the foyer as was Hafwen. The welcome mat made it seem friendly but Shinara was looking at me intently which made me worry. Then she beamed a smile and said, "Hello! Hafwen has told me of your illness. Welcome to our home, you may stay as long as you like but please note there are a few rules to be had. Hafwen will show you a place to rest. You look worn we will talk later."
"Thank UL" I thought, "I didnt mess it up too badly." Still I wasn't sure about the others. Hafwen first took me through the lounge and into the locker room to deposit what little I owned. We then went back to the lounge to sit by the fire place. I knew she had been away from Kessik a while so I said, "Oh just go! You make me sick with those longing eyes!" Then I winked at her as she ran past me and out the door. I fell asleep half drunk right there on the pillows.
It was Xabieth who woke me coming in a few hours later. She was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. She said "HI! I'm Xabieth and I will be the one sneaking in at all hours of the night." Giggling a bit, she continued, " you must be the new sister." She looked me over and smirked "I think we can put the dryad back in you. I hope you don't mind I ran into Hafwen and she kinda told me your situation." I shrugged. "Follow me," she said jumping up as quick as a rabbit. "We'll get you into a room at least for the night. Then you can decide what to do with it in the morning." I knew right then and there I would love this place if for no other reason than having her as a friend...

Senthas
I remembered sitting down and having that first miserable drink all by myself but not much else. Yet somehow this morning I awoke with a terrible headache and a strange man in bed next to me. The question "Oh my god! What did I do last night?" went through my head. But still as I lay there totally aware I was naked under that sheet I didn't mind. This man next to me was not unattractive actually quite the opposite. So, I sat there watching him for a few minutes before I tried to get up and quietly sneak away. Suddenly a single hand shot up and pulled me back into bed.
"Don't stare at me when I 'm asleep it bothers me" he commented as he lay there uncaring that we didn't even know each other.
"I need to leave" I replied, "My friend will be looking for me worried" He raised an eyebrow.
"Friend? Tell me I won’t be killing someone today?" I had to laugh.
"You don't even know me, not my name, or where I come from. Please don't bother to act all proper now!" He glanced up.
"Well at least she's truthful about what it was,” he thought. Then he stood up and extended a hand in my direction.
"Senthas" he said "that’s my name. Should I bother to ask yours?" I told him that my name was Xanya. "A dryad huh? Well thanks for not making me defend myself I am really not dressed for the occasion" He smirked and turned his back on me looking for his clothes.
I took my leave then as quickly as I could. I didn't want to look back I was a little afraid to. I ran down the stairs and out the door straight to my home. Xabieth looked up as I came in.
"Late night?" she asked.
"Please," I pleaded "not now!" And I ran for the only place I could think without interruption. Once inside I threw myself on the bed face down and groaned inwardly. Still his black eyes haunted me....

Mornings…
A little while later Xabieth walked into the room. "Hey" she said, "are you ok?" I nodded and sat up. "I came in to give you this," and she handed me a case. "Some man came knocking on our door with a delivery for you. I tried to pay him but he said it was covered already. You have already started buying things?"
"No" I thought "Now what?" I sat staring at the case and parchment I held.
"Open it geez !" Xabieth commented. She yanked it out of my hand, threw the parchment at me, and opened the case. Inside it was a dagger, sleek, sharp, and very expensive. She gasped "Wow! Who sent you this?" On the paper it simply said "Next time you might want to carry this." I laughed and threw the paper across the room.
"That sneaky, pig headed son of a ... I should of killed him!" But even I knew it was funny.
Xabieth's eyebrow went up. "Ahh so that fine Nyissan man was the reason for your late night. I knew you'd be ok here. How was it?" I rolled my eyes and threw my pillow at her.
"Oh go away," I laughed but she stayed and we sat trying to figure out what to do with this drab room.
"Will you see him again?"
I shrugged. How was I supposed to know? I barely even got his name. But somehow I knew I would run into him again. I smiled at the dagger and thought "But this time I'll be prepared!"
After finishing up what we thought was a good plan for my room we went to breakfast. It was Fieron who commented this time. "Good morning Xanya. Did you sleep well? I heard you come in and well I saw you last night at the pub." I groaned "Great!" I thought but she smiled at me and laughed. "Your thoughts show on your face. Did you know that?"
"I'm sorry Fieron I'm just still a little hung over yet I'll gossip with you all later. I've lost my appetite. I'm going to bed." As I walked out I heard her and Xabieth giggling at me.

Belated Warnings and Dark Alleys
Three days went past. I went about my way always carrying the dagger sent to me. I had a feeling I needed to be looking over my shoulder constantly. Then came the letter sent to me from Reidia. She didn't say where she was or who she was with but by now I am used to that. She tells me there is a maniac out there trying to erase the exsistance of Dryads for some reason. He had poisoned our trees and was said to be trying to hunt the ones who hadn't died and planned to kill us. "Why? " You may ask. Well I didn't know and if Reidia did she wasnt sharing the details. I muttered but what came next really made me angry.

She wrote:
"Dearest Xanya, Please do not be alarmed by this recient information on the Dryad's danger. I hired a man to hunt this maniac down and kill him. He is a despicable sort . I know you .. Please if you run into him DO NOT trust him. Last I heard he was headed in your direction. His name is Senthas."

Ok at this point I could of screamed. How dare he? He knew who I was already? I had half a mind to hunt him down and gut him myself. I walked out of my room & headed straight for the door.
I must of looked like I had death in my eyes because Xabieth stopped me in the doorway.
"Umm Xanya? Are you ok?" I simply answered "no" and left. Xabieth shook her head and pitied the person I was looking for but went off to her room.
Right in the middle of the road I stopped . There he stood like he had no cares in the world . I knew he was aware of my presence, or I might have simply went up and gutted him on the spot. Instead, I breezed past and right in to get a drink.
I kicked out the chair and heaved myself down onto it. "Why me?" I kept asking myself in my head as I continued to chatter with the barmaid. I have been here so much in the last week she remembers my name and I hers. I envied her greatly. Maegan had a family, kids and all, and seemed remotely happy. Why couldn't I have had that? Was it just not meant for me?
I gave it a few moments thought before I spotted Senthas coming through the door. I wanted to murder the man. I waited patiently to see if he would come to the table. When he didn't, I left my drink at the table, half-full, and walked over to the bar. "You and I will be having a talk very soon." Was all I said then waved to Maegan & left.
Slipping through a back-alley on the way back to my room, I felt a sharp pain suddenly explode in the back of my head!
"You should of died in that forest!" Whispered a sinister voice. I froze, half-slumped against the side of alley where the blow had knocked me. I knew this man was going to kill me if I remained frozen. It took me a second or two to realize I still had that dagger tucked into my boot. I dropped to my knees, the sound of hysterical sobs coming from me, and quickly slipped it from my boot. I slashed blindly at where I thought his calf may be. The blade sliced deeply from the feel of it, but he didn't seem to even acknowledge it with anything more than a strange grunt. I was hoping to at least make him stagger enough to attempt to plant my dagger in his chest. "My parents raised me to be peaceful. I'm not supposed to kill people! Now what am I supposed to do?" I thought miserably.
When he suddenly collapsed, I didn't understand. Looking backwards, I saw Senthas standing over the prone figure with a evil grin. "Just can't stay out of trouble can you?" He grinned. I stood up curtly then tried to catch him offguard with a slap, but he grabbed my arm and twisted it slightly. "What the hell is your problem? You have no manners? I just kept that man from killing you and you are going to slap me?" He growled sharply. "Yes," I retorted just as sharply, "you knew who I was when we met didn't you?"
He looked at me blantantly and replied, "Yes I did."
I was so angry I couldnt speak. I stared at him for a moment, muttered "jackass" darkly, and then proceeded to stalk off to write a long, LONG letter to Reidia.

Vehement Dryad Rant
I stalked into my room and slammed the door scaring the kitten who had taken up residence on my pillow. "Sorry kitty" I muttered as I picked it up and nuzzled it. Stupid cat! I don't even want to like the thing but she's Xabieth's and always seems to be there when she can't be. "Where is Xabieth anyways?" I wondered. Had I seen her today? I needed to find her and warn her about this man. I took a deep breath to calm myself and went to find her.
I knocked on her door hoping she was alone and could talk for a bit. "Come in !" She yelled, so I pushed open her door.
"Hey!" She said, "Did you find who you were lookin for?"
I nodded.
"Are they still alive?" She chuckled.
"Unfortunately, yes" I grumbled, "but I came her to warn you. Please be very careful when you go out."
I proceeded to explain to her about the letter Reidia had sent me. When I told her who Senthas was she laughed hysterically at me.
"HE knew Xabieth ! He knew and he still slept with me ! Reidia would skin him as she already seems to dislike him . I am not happy!"
Staring at her you could tell she was trying to keep her composure but losing the battle.
"Well, think of it this way... You just became a job bonus." And she shrugged. "I'm sorry Xan I forget you were raised in a family and don't see things like I do. It will be fine. Soon he will kill this maniac and be gone."
I sure hoped so as he was trying my patience and staying on my mind far too much. Why did he always have to be there? Sitting in the back of my mind even while I ate ? I hugged her and said my good bye, warning her again to please be careful. She was my first true sister and I didn't want to lose her.
I spent five minutes in my room trying to decide if I should tell Reidia about the job "bonus" as Xabieth put it. I was almost afraid she would travel here herself to kill him so I decided not to. I wrote to her telling her that I had indeed met her hired assassin and the man he came to kill. Both were still alive and all I had was a very large bump on my head to show for it . I praised her for being a good enough friend to send someone after this threat of my sisters. Silently I thought "And thanks for making MY life a little more difficult. Couldn't you of sent a ugly misshapened man instead?" I grinned and decided I would stay out of the inn tonight . I found a messenger, sent it on its way, and went to dinner in the clan hall.
