ingredients

1/2 cup water
1/4 cup cider vinegar pepper
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 tbs. sugar
2 tbs. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbs. prepared mustard
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black
1/4 tsp red pepper
1 thick slice lemon
1 thick sliced onion
1/2 cup catsup

directions

Combine all ingredients except catsup in a heavy medium saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer, partially covered, for 20 minutes. Remove from heat; discard lemon and onion slices, and stir in catsup.

Yield: 1 1/2 cups
