HUSN E MUASHARAT

"And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility and when the ignorant ones address them,
they reply with [words of] peace."
("Noble Qur'an" Surah Furqaan, verse:63 )

Husn-E- Muasharat means good social conduct ie. good relationship with people. It is the way the Muslim has to behave in society. Muaasharat has in fact been divinely ordained for creating harmony, love, peace, and cohesion among the members of the society.

The comprehensive study of the Qur'an and Hadith clearly shows that Islam is a very lofty system of life in which no facet of man's behavior, attitudes and actions will constitute the slightest difficulty, harm, displeasure, detestation and ill-feeling to another fellow being. His behavior should not be a cause of worry, confusion or fear to anyone.

Aqaaid, A'maal, Akhlaaq, Muamalaat and Aadaabul Muasharat are the five departments of the shariat and are collectively known as the Shariat. It is essential for Muslims to adopt all five departments of the shariat. Islam is a complete and perfect way of life; but some have taken only Aqaaid believing that only the proclamation of La ilaaha illallaahu Muhammadur Rasulullah (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger) suffices for immediate entry into Jannah(Paradise). Such persons, while they believe Salaat, Saum etc are Fardh; they do not obtain the good fortune of practically executing these acts of worship. Others again, along with Aqaaid observe Salaat, Saum, etc but they have discarded Maumalaat. In their transactional dealings they are not concerned with the Deen, whether their acts are lawful or not. They are indifferent to the question of halaal and haraam regarding their earnings and dealings. Then there are those who maintain their Muamalaat on a healthy footing, but are unconcerned with the reformation of their moral character. Those who are concerned about Akhlaaq are exceptionally few. In fact there are even such persons who spend considerable time to reform others while they forget about themselves. Some people, along with Aqaaid, A'maal, and Muamalaat are concerned about the reformation of Akhlaaq; hence they adopt ways and measures for the treatment of their morals. But they have discarded Aadaabul Muasharat. Many people are pious with good qualities such as humility, but in Muasharat they are lacking. They are not concerned whether they annoy and inconvenience others by their behavior. In most insignificant things they bring about difficulty and inconvenience to others. Their attention is totally diverted from little things which cause difficulty to others while in the Hadith there are numerous incidents narrated which show that Prophet Muhammad cared for the little things just as much as he cared for important matters.

The first thing in the Guidance brought to mankind by the Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him was the Call to Faith and Divine Unity. After it, he used to give instruction and advice concerning the moral and practical spheres of life to those who had accepted the Call. These teachings of the Prophet (S.A.W.) can basically, be divided into two parts.

The first part is related to the rights of Allah. It tells what the claim of Allah is upon the believer and what the duties of the believer are in that regard, and how this claim should be discharged and how the obligations are to be fulfilled.
The second part consists of the teachings related to the rights of men on each other, and the duty they owe to all created beings in general. How man is to fulIfill his social responsibilities and act towards all individuals or groups or any other creature with whom he may come into contact in the different walks of life.

The question of the rights of Men is more important in the sense that if we disregard them, i.e. infringe on rights of anyone or do some other injustice to him, then Allah has not kept the forgiving of it in His own hands but has declared that amends are to be made for it in this life by referring back to the person we have sinned against and to give him his due or to seek his pardon, otherwise we will have to repay him in the hereafter, which indeed, will cost us very dearly.

There are many verses in the Qur'an and Hadiths of Prophet Muhammad which show us how we should behave in the society. It is not possible to write all in this web-page.  How we should behave with our Parents:-

Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life say not to them a word of contempt nor repel them but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness lower to them the wing of humility and say: "My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood.
("Noble Qur'an" Surah Al-Isra, verse:23-24 )

"O People of Imaan! Do not enter homes besides your own homes as long as you have not sought permission and greeted the inmates of the houses".
("Noble Qur'an" Surah , verse: )

In a hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah the Prophet Peace be upon him says: "Whoever may have done an injustice to a brother, or defamed him or transgressed against his rights in any other way should set right the affair with him on this very day, in this very life - before the day of Judgement - when he will have no dinars and dirhams (money) to settle the claim. If he will possess a stock of good deeds, the aggrieved will be recompensed from it in relation to the injustice done to him. And in case he is empty-handed in the matter of good deeds, the sins of the aggrieved will be thrust upon him. (thus justice will be done on the day of Judgement)."

In another hadith, Ayesha reports that the Prophet Peace be upon him said, "The books of deeds (in which the sins of the people are recorded) will be of three kinds. Firstly, the one that will never be forgiven, and it is Polytheism (Shirk). Allah has declared in Holy Qur’an that, in no case shall He forgive the sin of Polytheism. Secondly, that which Allah will not pass over without doing justice. These are the mutual wrongs, injuries and violations of rights, and Allah will surely have them repaid. Thirdly, the sins which are of little weight and importance in the sight of Allah. These are the lapses that are, exclusively, between the believer and the Creator; the decision concerning them is wholly in His hands and He will punish or forgive the sinners as He likes."

Prophet Muhammed peace be upon himsaid:
"The true Muslim is he from whose tongue and hand muslims are safe."

The condition of two women was explained to Prophet Muhammad. One woman while engaging in abundant Salaat, Saum and zikr was in the habit of causing difficulty and inconvenience to her neighbours. The other woman, although not engaging in an abundance of Salaat and Saum, refrained from harming her neighbours. Prophet Muhammad described the first woman as an inmate of hell and the second woman as an inmate of paradise.
