MCNS has several fundraising
efforts underway for the 2003-2004 school year. To
participate in the organization of any of the activities,
please contact our Fundraising Coordinator Ardeth
Kirkham.
Some
of the fundraising projects we are currently working on:
MacMillans
Our first Macmillans drive was held
in September 2003 and raised over $200 for the school.
Frozen cookie dough, muffin mix, cakes and appetizers are
a wonderful way to fill your freezer with quick and ready
entertaining dishes, as well as helping preparation for
holidays and events fast and easy. The order deadlines
are as follows:
November 2003
March
2003
May
2003
If you have any questions, or want to
place an order, contact Alison Ayling (3 yr Vicky's
mum!).
MCNS Cookbook
Our new fundraising effort for the
2003-2004 year is the invention of the MCNS Cookbook.
created from recipes gathered from the parents of
students in the MCNS program, and generously supported by
local advertisers, the MCNS Cookbook is available for
$10. Copies will be sold at the Munster Elementary School
Craft Fair on November 20 from 4 to 8 PM in the MES gym.
They make a great Christmas present, and are a wonderful
keepsake reminder of the school and all of our students
and their families. If you would like to help sell the
cookbooks, or would like to purchase a copy, please
contact Roselynn Lannan (3/4 yr Chance's mum!).
Quilt Raffle
This year, as the last few years, we
have been generously donated a handmade Quilt to be
raffled for fundraising. The Quilt raffle tickets are $2
each or 3 for $5. The first prize for the raffle is a
handmade X by X (dimensions) quilt, made and donated by
Jan Kittle. The second prize is a set of handmade
sweaters (adult and child) donated by Patti Gorr. Our
first tickets sales drive was held the weekends of
October 18, 19 and 25, 26 at Saunders Farm - during their
Halloween events. Tickets will also be available for sale
at the Munster Elementary School Craft Fair on November
20 from 4 to 8 PM in the MES gym. If you would like to
purchase tickets, contact Jennifer Youland (3 yr Wyatt's
mum!).
Regal
We have been selling items from the
Regal Gifts catalog for several years now, and this is
one of our largest fundraisers. The catalogs and order
forms are available on top of the cubbies at the school,
and the order deadlines are as follows:
November 17, 2003
March 2003
May 2003
Take the catalogs to work, or share
with relatives, they seem to have a lot of appeal, and
usually have something for everyone! If you have any
questions, contact the Regal organiser for the school,
Lori Strang (3 yr Kellee's mum!).
Vesey's Bulbs
In
September of 2003, we tried a new campaign selling
Vesey's flower bulbs. With a very short lead time, we
raised over $300 for the school, and lots of parents now
have beautiful flowers expected next summer! If there is
any interest, we might consider doing another bulb sale
in the Spring. If you would like to participate, please
contact Ardeth Kirkham (2 yr Lena's mum!).
