REGISTRATION

Although the classroom is located in the Munster Elementary School, MCNS is not affiliated with the school.  Our phone number is 838-8754.

In order to register your child you must complete a registration package. The package can be downloaded here, or obtained from the Registrar or picked up from the school.  The package contains the following forms:

-Registration Checklist

-Registration Form

-Authorization Form

-Child Information Form

-Immunization Form

-Classroom Management Policy

-Criminal Reference Check Forms

-MCNS Handbook

All these forms much be completed and returned to the Registrar with a $25.00 non-refundable Registration fee per child and the tuition fees, in order to secure your child a spot in the upcoming school year.

TUITION FEES

MCNS is a non-profit organization operating on tuition fees and fund raising projects. Tuition Fees must be paid with a series of post-dated cheques made payable the first of each month to the Munster Cooperative Nursery School (MCNS).  These cheques are due before the first day of school.  In order to provide flexible payment options for our members we have created two payment schedules.

OPTION A – Participates in Fund Raising

Option A requires full participation in the fund raising program and has the following rates:

1 day/week =   $45.00/month

2 days/week = $80.00/month

3 days/week = $115.00/month

4 days/week = $150.00/month

In order to ensure that our financial goals are met we require two deposit cheques per family (one dated September 1st and one dated January 1st) for:

$100.00 each if 1 day/week

$150.00 each if 2 days/week

$200.00 each if 3 days/week

$250.00 each if 4 days/week

These cheques will only be cashed if the member has not participated at an acceptable level in the fund raising program.   At the end of January and the end of June the Fund Raising Coordinator will review each member’s involvement in the program.  The member must participate in fund raising activities each semester or the deposit cheques will be cashed.  Fund raising is essential to the operation of the school and we must make every assurance that our financial obligations are met.

OPTION B – Does Not Participate in Fund Raising

Option B combines the tuition fees and a pro-rated fee to cover the member’s portion of the fund raising.  If this option is chosen the parents do not have to participate in the fund raising program and the following rates apply:

1 day/week= $60.00/month

2 days/week= $110.00/month

3 days/week= $155.00/month

4 days/week= $205.00/month

Note:  This option does NOT exclude parents from filling a job listed at the end of the handbook and/or helping out at the fundraising events (though they will not be expected to sell any items related to fundraising).

LUNCH PROGRAM

The following fees apply for the lunch program and are in addition to Option A or B:

1 day/week=$20.00/month

2 days/week= $40.00/month

3 days/week= $60.00/month

4 days/week= $80.00/month

WITHDRAWAL

One calendar month’s written notice must be given to the Registrar prior to withdrawal from the program or one month’s fee will be forfeited. For example, notification of withdrawal received on February 15 still requires complete payment for the month of March.  No refunds will be made for holidays or absenteeism.  No refunds will be made for children withdrawing from the school after April 1st.

Bounced cheques will be subject to a NSF fee of $40.00.
