The school is run by Mrs. Sharma and her family.  This is the family you will be staying with.  The school building is right next to the family house, with the ground floor of the house converted into two classrooms and the school office.

Your room will be on the first floor of the house, along with two other bedrooms of your "host brothers".  Anish, the eldest, attends a class in the early morning in Kathmandu.  During the day, he works in the administration of the Nepal Engineering College which is within walking distance from the house.  Anup, the second oldest, also studies.  He also works at Nabin itself, helping out with the administration and teaching.  Santosh is the youngest and is a student at the school.

The house has another floor where your "host parents" have their bedroom.  This is also where the kitchen, dining room, toilet, and shower are.  From this floor, you can access the roof of the house, a nice place to chill out after school, to have tea, and to enjoy the pretty view of the Kathmandu valley down below, along with the nearby Changunarayan Temple and its surrounding hills.

All the meals will be provided by your host family.  You will eat with them the two main Nepali meals: one before school starts, at around 9.30 am, and the other later in the evening, at around 8 pm after the news on TV.  The food consists of the typical plate of rice (bhat) along with cooked vegetables (tharcurry) and lentil soup (dhal), which all Nepali people eat every day.  There is always plenty of food for a second serving, if you still happen to be hungry.  Meat is eaten about once a week, usually on Saturdays, during festivals, or when other guests visit.  If you are vegetarian, an alternative will surely be offered.  You also eat a snack at around 1 pm, when school breaks for 30 minutes to let both teachers and students rest, eat, and play games.  The school has a small kitchen, where teachers and volunteers have their snack and tea.  Most students bring their own snack, or simply eat when they get home.
