General Information (top)
A guild is only as good as its members. While we remain small in number, we maintain a diverse group of individuals. Below is a brief outline of what each member, according to their rank, is expected to do and/or have achieved.
It is expected that all members, regardless of their position within the guild, maintain their composure and treat one another respectfully. If at any time a member feels he/she has been harrassed or otherwise made to feel unwelcome or discontented, please notify the guild head asap.
It should be noted that there are a couple of members whose ranks do not appear to fit the "rules" of how our ranking system works. The reason for this is that special consideration was given to our initial members (those who took part in the guild when it was first created) and therefore were privileged to bypass certain requirements. If any of you have a question about your own rank, please feel free to contact the guild head.
The Council (top)
These positions are reserved for those members who help to watch over the general ongoings of the guild, including monitoring the Message Board and Calendar and answering newcomer questions. Currently there are no specialized duties that our Councillors have been assigned, other than general guild maintenance.
The Elders (top)
This position has a two-fold purpose. Those members who have served on the Council in the past and continue to play an active role in the guild are granted this rank. As well, those members who have achieved the rank of Dedicated and have been a member of the guild for a minimum of one full year will be promoted to Elder. We feel that reward for those that remain active on a long-term basis deserve an extra bit of recognition.
The Dedicated (top)
Those members who have obtained the rank of Geek and have been a member of the guild for at least 6 months will be promoted to Dedicated. We encourage continued participation and therefore deemed this rank a suitable reward for those that have shown their efforts to remain active.
The Geeks (top)
This rank is for those that have graduated from newbiehood. Graduation occurs once a new member has been a member of the guild for a minimum of one week and has posted at least 10 non-spammy posts on the guild message board (the Neopets guild page). As Geeks, most members strive to become more involved in guild discussions and in general continue to make their presence known.
The Geeklets (top)
This is our introductory rank for new members. For most members, it is a temporary position while they learn the workings of the guild and strive to participate in the discussions of the forum and message board. The quickest way to surpass this level is to be active and show that you are truly serious in being a part of something bigger than yourself.
The Lost (top)
The rank of Lost Geek is used for those members who have gone by the wayside and are no longer actively playing Neopets. Activity is judged by the "Last Spotted" status on a member's lookup. If a member's status is 30 days or more, they are deemed inactive and that member's rank will be adjusted accordingly. Lost Geeks who become active once again will be evaluated by the guild head to determine their re-entry rank.
Lost Geeks who's "Last Spotted" status reaches 100 days or more will be removed from the guild entirely. A notice of this action will be sent to them via Forum pm. If/when they decide to play Neopets again, they can re-apply for guild membership. The only exception to this rule is 2LL, which is the account used by The-Geek's admin, and is sometimes used in "emergency" cases to keep contact, i.e. when the forum is down.
