English national tired of name confusion

An English national living in Ireland has revealed his displeasure at the constant harassment he receives because of his name. Anthony Nother, with an address in Shantalla in Galway City claims that he endures everyday hassle, especially when the GAA season is in full swing.

"Every Thursday when the weekend teams are announced it begins. I see on the teletext that Galway have announced A N Other in midfield and the county selectors ring me up and start quizzing me as to whether I'm available or not. I don't even know the rules of Gaelic Football."

Mr. Nother has also been named on the Connacht rugby team at out-half, loosehead prop and on the wing. He has represented Ireland at basketball, compromise rules, hockey and volleyball, although he has never appeared in the Irish jersey.

"I can't go on like this. I'm just about at breaking point. If it does keep up for much longer I'm going to have to change my name by deed poll."

The mention of a name change seemed to bring a smile to the face of Mr. Nother's obese wife Ava.
