SYNOPSIS:
|
Brigid (uber-G) is in her last year of high school when Helen (uber-X) moves in next door. There follows a rather long collection of high school romps, religious platitudes and an EXTREMELY understanding father, until the couple realise that love can’t be thwarted by anything (and believe me there were a few things in here they had to get past!)

I can just see it now, Helen goes home to her incredibly identical Aunt Mel (who lives with her lover Janice) and announces that she met someone, and what do you know? She looks JUST like Aunt Janice!

MEL PAPPAS:
|
Oh that Xena and Gabrielle, they’re up to no good again here I just know it!
|
NANCY:
|
I just love the whole logic of stories revolving around Janice and Mel’s family!
|
EWOK:
|
The convenient Covington cousins syndrome?

I read this story because someone recommended that the second-last line in it was worth wading through the whole thing for.
And it was.
Just.
And I’m not going to spoil it here, you’ll all have to wade through it yourselves. And no cheating! It's not half as much fun if you cheat.

I'm in hysterics. Oh good lord!

There are some interesting references to Bat Morda’s Janice and Mel stories in here, mainly in explaining Helen’s backstory and her two eclectic aunts!
Basically I found this story kind of sweet, but actually pretty slow. Lots of telling us what the characters are feeling instead of giving them things to do and letting them show us for themselves.
The most remarkable thing about these babes is their four year wait til consummation!! FOUR YEARS! No gratuitous sex in this story I can tell you! I’m surprised Janice didn’t pick them both up by their collars and lock them in a room together, standing outside with a stopwatch!
Oh, and I do like the title.

5.5 out of 10 for the story, and that magical line in the last paragraph scores a big fat 10! It must have been inspired by the characters being inside Janice and Mel’s house.

*still laughing* Ditto to that, and amen to that, Nancy.
