CLASS 320 MULTIPLE UNITS

Built in York in 1989 for North Clyde routes, these three car sets have been highly successful from the day of introduction. These units replaced all the class 311 and unrefurbished 303 units. One problem however is that due to clearances in the tunnels of the Argyle Line the trains cannot be used on this line in passeneger service.

Interiorly these units are positively ugly and the seats are not exactly comfy either. However the sets which were recently refurbished have had this problem solved. Refurbishment includes the fitting of new seats, luggage racks and the announcement system (famous for the annoying bored sounding voice of the class 334's)

The sets are allocated to Yoker. Most are painted in the SPT carmine and cream livery with 18 in a new livery following overhaul at Kilmarnock.
