Notes From the Cess Pool
Vol. I--That School Thang

She's going to tell somebody about it!

This column appeared just after the passing of some tax levy to raise money for the Cess Pool Public School District.  Note the circus of liberal thought on this piece of newsprint.  It's mind-boggling.  Also note that the actual tax increase was like, hundredths of a cent or something equally pathetic.  Also note that these letters are not re-printed with anyone's permission.  (I dare them to summon up the brain power it would take to actually sue me.)  Enjoy...

"(Cess Pool) is gonna find out how many rednecks they have with people letting their yards grow tall and their houses go unpainted now that the school bond has passed."  Uh, and this is different from the norm in what way?

"I am sitting here watching the superintendent of schools live on TV smiling from ear to ear bragging about the school bond passing.  I hope everybody is happy.  I am going to sell my house and move out of this town."  And raise the IQ of the town considerably, while dropping the IQ of wherever you end up.

"The school bond passed and I better not catch your kid on my front porch selling anything."  Like what?  Drugs?

"I don't believe that school thing passed.  I say they passed it on their own.  That's a big if if if--if it did and I don't think it did.  Because there is a lot of crookedness going on around here and there is too many people against that.  Did college kids vote on it?  They don't pay taxes around here.  These people in the high life, they don't pay taxes, so I say it didn't pass."  That's right, college kids don't pay taxes.  They pay rent, and they buy stuff, and food, and liquor, and cigarettes, but they don't pay taxes.  And isn't "High Life" a beer?

"I think that school thing didn't pass legally.  I say it was cheated.  School kids don't need to vote because they don't pay taxes.  There was a lot of cheating to get that thing to go through.  A lot of these big shots, they don't pay it.  They should be the ones.  I don't know about this town, all they want is tax, tax, tax in their pockets.  They don't care about us.  All this stuff down here at the boat that is supposed to help and it don't.  What do they do with that?"

"I am a landlord and I would just like to say that I can't wait until May 1 so I can raise the rent for my tenants so they can help pay for the school bond they voted for."  Sheesh!  Glad I own my own home!

"I voted no for the school bond but I guess the thing passed.  Probably within a year they will be asking for $50 million.  They better start being on TV trying to get it passed showing what the new money is blowing."  Obviously, it's being blown on educating the "y'alls" of tamorra...

"Since 60 percent of the people voted for the school bond I think only 60 percent should have to pay for it.  I like these famous last words, 'when we get all the facilities together and everything done the people will be really happy they voted it in.'"  Isn't democracy defined by majority vote?  Forgive me, I was educated by the Cess Pool Public School District.

"Since you people decided that you got your wish on the school bond you take a good look and check on the money they are going to spend.  It will be 50 percent spent in the city and some of the people that get the wages and not on the schools.  Keep your eye on it."  Aye aye, cap'n--we'll keep a lookout...

"I see that the school bond passed.  I was personally for it until the day of the election when I found out the school district was paying a man a wealthy wage to go around to the schools and turn off the lights to conserve energy.  That is fine, turn off the lights, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to flip a switch.  This man doesn't even turn off his air conditioner or lights when he is out of the office.  What about school-sponsored trips to Tan-Tar-A the principals and teachers take once a year?  We the taxpayers foot the bill.  Hello, I would like to go to Tan-Tar-A too but my employer doesn't foot the bill.  It's not the ignorant people of (Cess Pool) who don't want this, it is the overtaxed, overworked people.  I bet you will throw yourself a big celebration party because we all know you love your perk."  What the hell does this mean?

And the winner is....

"This has my wife so upset about this bond thing passing like it did, she could scream, and she is under doctor's care.  What's the matter?  Don't the people care about the people anymore?  I tell you if she has a spell someone is gonna hear about it and I mean it.  People better start thinking about other people and knock this stuff out."
