Girls who are unable to attend regular meetings because of distance, health, work, studies or physical challenge may become members of the N.W.T / Nunavut. Lones Company. Lones can work on the Brownie , Guide , Pathfinder , or Ranger programs.

Whenever possible, Lones join with an active unit to take part in camps and other special events.

Lones carry out the program of their branch through correspondence. Letters, cassettes, video tapes, and e-mail messages containing material which will enable the girl to complete parts of the program are sent to her regularly, and she is expected to reply.
