Prepare the large safety pin by using the pliers to gently
pull apart the coiled end. (This will allow the smaller pins to be
slipped through later.) |

Thread the seed beads onto the smaller pins as illustrated
in the chart above. Each column represents one pin. When placing
the beads on the pins, start with row 1 and work down. |

When all the beads are in place, gently squeeze the heads of
the pins with the pliers to prevent them from accidentally opening. |
|
Hang the beaded pins from the larger pin starting with
column 'A' by slipping the large pin through the holes in the coils of the
small pins. |

When all of the small pins are in place, close the large pin
and check that the design is correct. |
|
Twist the small pins around the coil loop of the large pin
until they all hang from the non-opening side of the pin. |
|
The large pin can now be opened and used to attach the flag
to your hat. |
