The Second Battle of Pinehurst Fields
- Chapter Four -
The Main Act

Ah, now we're into the real thing - what DBA with Early Imperial Romans is all about - Bd's vs Wb!

Mark and I were playing the DBM rules whereby Ps can support Bd's vs Wb (this gives the Bd's an extra combat factor - it isn't actually in the DBA rules! Mark and I were just so used to Ps support for Bd vs Wb in DBM that we just took it for granted!).

DBA 1.1 allows Wb's an extra supporting rank of Wb, which also gives them an extra factor. So it's 6 (Bd's) vs 4 (Wb) on the ends and 5 vs 3 in the middle.

Warband quick kill Blades, which means that if they get a greater total # (Combat Factors + dice roll) than the Bd's, the Bd's die (usually elements don't kark it unless their opponent doubles their score).

This shot was taken before the combats were resolved. You may notice that Mark lost his LH to my General - at factor 1 (LH) to 4 (Gen), the odds were never good for the LH!

At the other end, on the other hand, the Ax actually defy their odds (for the Ax vs Mark's general it's another 1:4), and manage to hold off their mounted opponents from the turn before (a stand result - neither side manages to even recoil (push back) the other). It get's even more remarkable next turn...
