Kelthas is a new card/role-play game that is coming out soon. Students at Indiana University were requested to do the artwork for the cards, and I got wind of it thanks to my best friend. I signed up for card #52: Ulmar the Master Abjurer. "One of the Five Archmagi who lead the Council of Wizards, Ulmar is responisble for training apprentices in teh art of countering spells. Pay/ 1,000 gold: Destroy target ritual/nAll Apprecntice Wizards you control gain 10 magic." The description I was given to work with was: "Two wizards are having a magical duel on top of a tower high i the mountains. One, an elderly man, extends his hand, shooting a bolt of light to shatter a defensive shield put up by the younger wizard. Steve, the guy in charge of collecting the art really liked my piece. Like most of my new color peices, it is done in water-color. To get the nice illuminated effect to the lightning, I used adobe photodeluxe to darken the scanned version, than I laid the darkened version of the lighter one, and erased the areas where the light was needed. I think it turned out nice.

This next series of images are from a Tarot deck that I am designing. I have been reading the Tarot for about 5 years. I used to be a lot better, but since I have come to college, I have fallen out of flow of things. This is part of my search to reaffirm my spiritual connection to the metaphysical world.

The Infant

Are you confused? You should be. I am definetly not following the traditional description of the fool as the inexperienced explorer about to set out on a journey. Instead, the baby is crying, making irrational noises. The idea of using an infant instead of a fool is inspired by the Enochian Tarot.

It is my image of the all powerful ego.

The Lovers

One of my most philosophically inclined pieces. Love has always caused me a lot of psychological trouble. Not that I have really been hurt, but simply that I have tried to conquer a definition to it. It definetly stems from the scenario described on the Palace page. In this particular rendition, there is a rhetorical question as to what is love? Have you found your other half, or are you loving an image that you have created of another person?

At least, these are my current interpretations.
