From Reference - Male, front, plain expression

This piece is here seemingly in the middle of nowhere, as our male faces didn't impress the lecturer. So we had to try again. There was a serious lapse of technique here, as I was experimenting with different strokes. The samples we were shown had really rough looking strokes and I suppose I was trying that. It didn't quite work though. There reference was also quite small (we've been using full page pictures as references and this was about the size of a passport foto) - so obviously my imagination for the smaller details also needs some practise.
